Q. Okay, here with Lexi Thompson after her second round at the Meijer LPGA Classic. Just another solid round. You seem to really love this golf course. Talk a little bit about your round out there today.
LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, I started off well. I had a birdie on the first hole and kind of fizzled for a little bit, but I just tried to stay positive. I told my caddie James out there that I was just trying to get out of the last seven holes with seven birdie looks.
Unfortunately they were a lot longer looks than I wanted, but ended up getting a few birdies coming in. That's all I could ask for. Just tried to stay patient and positive.
Q. Last few holes obviously big momentum shift for you. What did you do so much better there or what was it about those holes that got you going and how big is that moving into tomorrow?
LEXI THOMPSON: Well, my first birdie coming in on I guess 15 it was, I made a putt off the collar there, which was a 25-footer. Wasn't really expecting to make that. It was down the hill, left to right -- or right to left, so just one I was just trying to get up there and par and ended up birdieing.
So just committing to my shots and being more confident over the last few holes coming in.
Q. Talk about obviously playing so well here through the years and what you like most about this course.
LEXI THOMPSON: I think it's an amazing tournament in general. We always look forward to coming back because the golf course is in great shape. That's always one of the top things.
The way the community gets behind the tournament and gives back as well, that's what we really like about it. The hospitality we receive, not only are the fans incredible, so many come out, especially on the weekend. The crowds get huge, which we love.
Just the hospitality through dining, volunteers, everybody is so nice to us. That's something I thoroughly enjoy.
Q. You had a stretch of a lot of pars. Just how important were those when you maybe felt like you weren't hitting as well as you could that you were still saving par every hole to keep in it?
LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, I think there was a few par saves that were important to keep me into it. Two putting on 9 for bogey I think was big.
And just staying patient after that because there are birdie holes out there. But it got really windy, so playing for bounce-out too into the greens, they're not super soft, but just staying patient and knowing the few birdie holes are out there and really just committing to your shots.
Q. What was the difference conditions-wise from being the morning yesterday to the afternoon today?
LEXI THOMPSON: Yesterday morning it wasn't as windy obviously for the first probably nine to 13 holes I would say, and then got windy towards the end.
Today was just windy all day, kind of how was it towards the end; probably a little bit more though.
