Quick Quotes

Q. Angel, I want to start with you first. Were you the one behind that amazing walk-up song there?

ANGEL YIN: Sí.

Q. What went into that conversation?

ANGEL YIN: I tried. Well, I requested for a time. They didn't really start playing it. We were a little disappointed, but they got to TNT, so we were really happy.

Q. Brittany, what was it like to have that kind of atmosphere walking up? It kind of reminds you of that Solheim first tee atmosphere, too.

BRITTANY ALTOMARE: Yeah, it was so much fun. Angel did a lot with the team name and the team song, and it was really good. It was a lot of fun.

Q. Angel, what's it like to be playing with her over the last couple days?

ANGEL YIN: It's been really, really fun. I'm having so much fun. I love team events. I never really played in a lot of team events, so I really like -- holding on to these moments, putting them in my archives.

Q. Brittany, what was the game plan going into today and what did you learn from the first day of alternate-shot that helped you today do you think?

BRITTANY ALTOMARE: I think for us it was just like be ourselves and play our games. I just really wanted her to just hit as far as she can and just bomb it like she does and not be worried, because I was like, I can hit it from anywhere.

And it's fun because we both have very different games, so it's just a lot of fun to watch her, and she hit some shots that it's just unbelievable the way she hits the ball.

ANGEL YIN: If I can add, I don't think Brittany has ever been in that many trees in her entire life. I'm showing her the whole entire golf course, not just the fairway.

BRITTANY ALTOMARE: But I'm getting a great lesson, because her short game is unbelievable. I don't think you can appreciate it until you play a team event together, and it's been really cool.

ANGEL YIN: They call me Lady Tarzan.

Q. With that, who started things off today? Because I did see the two bogeys on the front, but you guys were able to rebound off that.

BRITTANY ALTOMARE: Yeah, I just think that we just needed to get comfortable with being ourselves and playing our own games, and we did that. We made birdie on the second hole, and that was good.

ANGEL YIN: Third hole. No, we looked at each other and we went, Okay, that's enough. We need to play better. No, I mean, we just hit really good shots. The first three holes are just really hard, and I didn't really put ourselves in good position. I think we did a lot. We did good.

Q. Angel, which one of the formats is your favorite and do you think really plays to your strength?

ANGEL YIN: Four-ball. Four-ball because I feel more comfortable. But I feel comfortable, more comfortable in alternate-shot. The first day we really were conservative just because I was a lot conservative. I wasn't quite sure what to do. I felt bad a lot of times, and she was just like, Stop feeling bad. Slapped me across the face and woke up.

BRITTANY ALTOMARE: I did not slap her, but I did tell her, Just be yourself. I know who you are. We picked each other for a reason, and I think we really like came out today.

ANGEL YIN: I started hitting putts harder today. That was good. We didn't leave it short at all today. No, no putts short. That's really a plus. And it showed on our scorecard. I just hit driver and she did really, really good.

Q. Brittany, anything's possible tomorrow with the four-ball. Do you think that also plays to your strengths as Angel said it played to hers?

BRITTANY ALTOMARE: Oh, yeah. I think between the two of us we can make a lot of birdies. We just need to both play our games, and I think that's what we did really well today and yesterday, and I think we just need to continue doing that.
