Celine Boutier

Yuka Saso

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: I am here with Celine boutier and Yuka Saso. Great round today. A bogey-free round out there. How do you think your games complimented each other out there today?

CELINE BOUTIER: I think it worked out really well. Whenever one was missing, the other one was making up for it, and I feel like, yeah, Yuka had some really solid par putts, especially in the middle of the round and stuff, so that really kept us going, and it worked out really well today.

THE MODERATOR: Did you have any strategy that you had headed into today?

CELINE BOUTIER: Just with the odds and even numbers, I feel like we tried to do our best. Obviously it wasn't really easy to predict which tees were going to be forward and stuff, but I thought that we had a pretty good game plan. Yeah, I feel like it worked out really well.

THE MODERATOR: Then how did this partnership come about? Who asked who to be on the team?

YUKA SASO: I forced her.

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, I think we were just talking about partnering a little bit. Yeah, but I wasn't sure if she was joking or if she was being serious.

So it's always awkward because you don't want to be rejected; right? I was kind of like tiptoeing my way around, and finally we just decided to play together.

YUKA SASO: Who would say no to Celine Boutier?

THE MODERATOR: Have you known each other for a while now, been friends for a while?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, she's only been on tour for, like, two years, so I feel like she's still pretty young, but she's all right.

YUKA SASO: I'm all right.

THE MODERATOR: What are you looking forward to tomorrow, especially with the different format?

YUKA SASO: Looking to have for more fun, more birdies. Hopefully the weather hold out, and we are able to play.

THE MODERATOR: Thank you so much.
