THE MODERATOR: Here with maybe my favorite team name of the entire tournament, Team Nole Ducks Given. Take us through the round today, especially the eagle on 12. What went on there?
AMANDA DOHERTY: Well, we walked up to that hole, and the tee was moved up, so they made it drivable and decided to go for it, and I got it just on the fringe, and Caroline drained a 25-footer.
CAROLINE INGLIS: Yeah, good teamwork there.
Q. Speaking of teamwork, what was the strategy coming into today? Who played the odds? Who played the evens? What was the strategy?
CAROLINE INGLIS: I played the odds and Amanda played the evens. I think most teams do that where the longer player plays the evens, but it worked out good. Our strategy was just, like, nothing special, right? Just go play golf, hit some good shots. Alternate shot is kind of tricky, so there's going to be some -- you're going to make a bogey here or there maybe, but just got to keep your head down and keep going.
I think we did a pretty good job. It was nice to get that eagle as a little bonus.
Q. Talk about how this team came together. What were the conversations? How did we come up with the team name? Tell us that story.
AMANDA DOHERTY: Well, we didn't actually come up with the name team. We were trying to come up with names that kind of went with our two schools, and that was Alex --
CAROLINE INGLIS: It was the physio, Alex. He came up with it.
AMANDA DOHERTY: Yeah, we can't take credit for that one. We just liked it.
CAROLINE INGLIS: But how we came together was we just got paired together -- was that last year?
AMANDA DOHERTY: Yeah, we got paired together, like, every week last year.
CAROLINE INGLIS: For like six weeks in a row, and we just became buds, and I was like, Do you want to play Dow? She's like, yeah.
Q. Take us through what you guys thought of the course. We mentioned it a little bit before we started, but top-20 finish here last year. What is it about this course that you guys maybe enjoy and brings out some of your strengths?
AMANDA DOHERTY: There's a lot of stuff I really like about this course. It's always in great shape. It's in really good shape this year, but I think even more so is the event is just fun. I think we just don't get to do stuff like this that often, and getting to play on a team and the team aspect is just a lot of fun.
I think kind of focusing on, especially this week, just having fun and getting to enjoy it, at least for me.
CAROLINE INGLIS: Yeah, I think Dow knows how to run a really good event.
AMANDA DOHERTY: Yeah, it's great.
CAROLINE INGLIS: The course is kinda soft just with the rain, so I think there's an opportunity for a lot of birdies, which is always really fun. But Dow goes above and beyond. It's just a really fun, greatly run event, I think.
Q. What's maybe going to be the strategy heading into tomorrow's four-ball event?
CAROLINE INGLIS: I think same thing, just keep plugging along, committing to shots, hitting good shots, and making a lot of birdies tomorrow because we've got two balls.
AMANDA DOHERTY: Exactly. I don't think you change the strategy too much for best ball. Just play your ball as good as you can. You should be good at the end of the day.
