THE MODERATOR: Here with Ally and Jennifer after their second round of the Dow Championship, top of the leaderboard right now. Talk about how you guys felt like it went out there today and how you bounced off of each other.
ALLY EWING: Jen played really solid. We had a lot of good looks, I think, which when you're playing best ball like that, if you both have birdie putts, that's really big, and she made several birdies today. It was good to see another good score, especially in best ball.
Q. You both have started here several times. What's the comfortability level out here at this course and just this community, too, as well?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: Yeah, I love Michigan in general, but I think coming back to a place that I've won before is also really special. The community out here is really great. The golf course is really scorable. It's very comfortable for me.
I'm just excited to be back.
Q. Talk a little bit about your team name and why you chose it, and is there a fun story about the partnership?
ALLY EWING: Well, we're not very creative, so we leaned on Scott Wolf a little bit to help us out with our inability to be creative. We're both Ping players. Ping has been great to us, so we went with Ping-Pals.
Q. Was there any story earlier in the season about deciding to play together or kind of natural --
ALLY EWING: One person might have been asked a few more times, but eventually budged, and very, very happy to be here.
JENNIFER KUPCHO: Every time I saw her, it was like, it's a yes, right? Finally it was.
Q. You mentioned the comfortability on this course. What is it about this course specifically that allows you to feel comfortable obviously at the top of the leaderboard?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: I think for me, this golf course just has a lot of birdieable holes, so I think just being able to be aggressive at almost every pin, it's just super scorable for my eye. I think that helps me a lot.
ALLY EWING: Yeah, the course is playing soft. We came off of three weeks where it was pretty firm. You can kind of be aggressive and throw them at pins. Yeah, I think as Jen said, there are a lot of holes out here that you can get.
They move tees around to where par-5s are occasionally reachable, par-4s drivable. It's just a fun format and certainly fun if you have a lot of birdie opportunities.
