Q. (In progress. )
MINJEE LEE: Actually I said 5-iron, but Gilly said 6, so thank you to Gilly. I hit 6-iron and it was really close.
So, yeah, no, I'm really happy.
Q. You start the day seven shots back. When today did you start to think you had a chance of winning a major?
MINJEE LEE: You know, I never really like thought about it when I was playing. I just tried to make as many birdies as I could.
I think I saw the leaderboard maybe once or twice. Just tried to play to the best of my ability, and it's really great to win a major. Yeah, it's just really amazing.
Q. Your brother is a winner on the European Tour. I know you're going to head back to Texas to see him. Your mother introduced you to the game. She's a teaching pro. What kind of message do you have for them watching at home tonight?
MINJEE LEE: I'm sure they're watching. I think it's really early in the morning, so I just want to say thank you for everything. They sacrificed so much for me. Yeah, no, I know they're really, really happy and I am, too. Yep.
