Q. Four birdies over your last five holes. You had it going all day it looked like, but specifically towards the end, how good did it feel to really get things finding the bottom of the cup towards the end?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: Yeah, I mean, I was hitting the ball really well. Had a lot of very makeable putts. It wasn't until the end of the round that they started falling. It was nice to see some fall at the end. Definitely could have had more, but I'm thankful for those ones that finally did fall.
Q. You had four there, five, six, seven, eight birdies, 3, 4, 8, 10, 14, 16, 17, 18. Did any of them maybe at the beginning of the round, any of them, 3, 4 or 8 kind of help get things going for you or settle in?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: Yeah, on 6 I made a bogey, really just hit it off the planet. I was in the middle of the trees and surprised I found my ball, honestly. So then to get on to 8, and I hadn't played 5 through 9, so I was just -- I got on to 8 and didn't realize it was as long of a hole as it was and ended up hitting hybrid, hybrid in and made a long putt. That really helped to see a putt fall.
Q. Do you ever remember playing a par-73?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: No. It's definitely a little different. I actually walked off the first hole making 5 thinking I was 1-over. I didn't realize it until I looked at the scorecard. It's definitely different having so many par-5s.
Q. Obviously a big storyline is playing with the men here this week. Did you feel anything out there? Was it unique, different? Any different vibes from a normal LPGA event?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: Not really. I mean, slow play as always, so it's all the same. I don't think we play any faster or slower than guys. Everyone says we play slower. I don't think it's true. I don't know, it's really fun to be out here with them. Even to see -- I saw a college teammate on the men's side.
Q. Who was that?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: Paul McBride. He went to Wake Forest, an Irish guy, so it's cool to see different guys that you don't see every day.
Q. He was there while you were there?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: Yeah.
Q. Were you able to play Massereene earlier this week?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: I played nine holes yesterday.
Q. And what did you take away from that headed into tomorrow?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: I mean, the greens are really pure, which is good. I think that's all we need to ask for. It's super nice to be able to get on to the green and be able to trust a putt. Hopefully putts will keep falling tomorrow.
Q. How does two courses alter a game plan?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: Obviously I haven't seen the back nine of that one, but I feel like they're kind of very similar, lots of doglegs, definitely shot making. Just get it on the green and hope to make some putts.
Q. Is there something freeing about not seeing a course and just kind of relying on a caddie and being able to play your own game and hit your own golf shot?
JENNIFER KUPCHO: Yeah, I think it's kind of interesting. It's hard sometimes to trust it. I mean, when you see trees and he says, yeah, you're not going to go through, you've kind of got to trust it. I think it's definitely really interesting. You try to make the best of it. You never know what's up there, so you're like, well, if I miss the green then we'll try and make par.
