Q. You started off with a bogey. It was a relatively colorful scorecard. Just take us through it.
LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, never ideal when you hit your first tee shot out of bounds, but have done well. Didn't hit the ball particularly well today well off the tee. Few dropped shots but putted really nice to keep myself in there.
Yeah, always nice to finish with three birdies in the end.
Q. Sitting in a nice spot on the leaderboard. You touched upon how you're not happy with how you swung it. What could have been better?
LEONA MAGUIRE: Didn't hit enough fairways. Didn't really feel comfortable over a lot of the tee shots. This course doesn't suit my eye very well, so kind of nice to have a change of scenery. Get out on the range, and we'll go again going in early tomorrow.
Q. You just came back from the AIG Women's Open. Final round you scored a bogey-free 66. Were you able to carry much positive momentum coming into this week?
LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, any time you shoot bogey-free in a major it's always a confidence boost. If I had the putted today like I putted on Sunday, would be a bit of a different story.
If I can take the ball striking from last week and add it to the putting today, I would be very happy.
Q. What is it like being on home soil, your sister on the bag. Has it helped make you feel a little bit more relaxed out there?
LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, it's always nice. I don't get to play at home very often, so it's nice to be back here. The course is in great shape. The weather is as nice as we could have possibly hoped.
All in all it's been good week and nice to start with a good round.
