Q. Your Irish heritage perhaps being a factor in guiding you round the course yesterday, but two rounds at 10-under, you must be delighted with where you are.
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, for sure. I had a little disappointing finish, but it was a fun round out there for sure.
Yeah, we went out, my caddie and his mom, went up to the Giant's Causeway and had dinner in Portrush last night, so it was beautiful up there. Yeah, really enjoying being here in Northern Ireland.
Q. Obviously both nice days starting off with those eagles. Talk us through those. A perfect start.
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, hit it to about two feet on 10 and then probably about six, seven feet on 1. But, I mean, that thing broke so much. That pin was pretty ridiculous.
Yeah, no, it was really good start. Hit some really good shots. Even all day today hit some really good putts.
Q. You said yesterday you were really pleased with how you played. Can you give us a sense of the challenge it takes to go from one course to another and trying to emulate that same success?
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, definitely. I think I got kind of fortunate just that I got to play Massareene yesterday, and now I get to play Galgorm the next couple days, so I don't really have to go back and forth, back and forth. Just because they were a tad bit different. Massareene is pretty firm. Not that Galgorm isn't as well, but it's a little bit more inconsistent.
So just hoping you judge it correctly. And the greens are a little bit tinier, too, so probably going to have a lot of putting on fringe, which is what I did a lot yesterday.
Yeah, it is a struggle, but hopefully your caddie goes out there and gets a good feel for it before you go play, which mine did.
Q. You've had a smile on your face the first two days. How much are you relishing this opportunity this week?
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, it's huge. I haven't played great the past few weeks. The wind and links golf really got to me. That was my first time in Scotland, so completely different than anything I've ever played.
It takes some getting used. This is more like what I'm used to, so it's been -- but it's been nice.
Q. You've had a long stretch of golf. How nice is it to be in this position now heading into the weekend to show something for the hard work you put in over the last five weeks?
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, no, for sure. It's pretty big. Definitely a confidence boost going into the weekend, but there is still two more rounds to be played.
I'm trying hard to stay in the present each hole. I know it's cliche, one shot at a time. I think I didn't do a great job of that at the Open last week. It was just really cool being at Muirfield. It was my first Open as well.
Just kind of a bit much just kind of being a part of history, being at Muirfield for the first time. I think I just took that a little bit in too much.
Yeah, it's been really nice. I'm excited to get home, but also excited for this weekend.
