Q. Cheyenne, you're 2-0 now in this Solheim Cup. Very different match from yesterday today. More of a fight. Can you tell me about it?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: Yeah, me and Angel were kind of down the whole front nine, but 9 we started really hitting some good shots. Things weren't really going our way, but we gave ourselves kind of a pep talk kind of on the 11th hole.
ANGEL YIN: That chip on 7 changed it. That was great.
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: It was honestly a momentum shift. We won three holes in a row, and then Angel hit some great shots coming in on -- Angel hit some great shots coming in, especially on 15 and 18. That drive she hit, holy smokes, it was smashed.
So I am 2-0, but I have had the best partners and the best teammates, so I'm very thankful and I had a lot of fun with Angel.
Q. Angel, how hard is it to stay 1-up over so many holes against players like Anna and Caroline?
ANGEL YIN: Oh, it's so difficult because they were playing great. Hedwall was, like, giving us no opportunities. Then as soon as Hedwall, like -- let's just say she makes a little bit of a mistake, not even a big mistake, Anna is right next to the pin, and so it never really created any room for error. I think on each side we only had one bogey. We had one bogey, they had one bogey. So that just tells you how good of golf we're playing. We only had to make birdie to win the hole and the pars didn't even do anything. So, I mean, it's just tough.
Q. How important is this point for your team and for you guys today, this whole point?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: Well, we didn't know how anyone was doing and we were kind of giving ourselves a pep talk, and then on 10, we saw all blue on the board, and Angel is like, All right, we got to go. So big full point for us and some momentum going into tomorrow.
ANGEL YIN: That one red means a lot, and I know for everyone -- I mean, in situations like this, at least we got one point up there. So tomorrow it's going to be a grind, but I think we're going to do it great.
Q. How do you prepare now for singles tomorrow?
ANGEL YIN: Eat, rest.
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: We're going to cheer on our team and we're going to get the vibes going for tomorrow.
Q. On the back nine of this match what was the key to turning it in your favor?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: We were hitting it well pretty much all day. Kind of starting on 9 we had good looks at it, like, the rest of the way in. But, yeah, we gave each other a pep talk. We were hitting good putts, just wasn't going in, and kind of had to adjust our speed. But Angel, she didn't give me a chance to, she kind of, I mean, the last few holes she played amazing. So she was awesome to play with. We had a lot of fun.
Q. What does a pep talk with Angel Yin look like?
ANGEL YIN: Well, I just told us to keep going. She said it right, perfectly. We give ourselves two looks on every single hole, we're going to make it. On 9 we didn't make it. We were really close. Kept lipping out. She was really close.
On 10 we were close.
Then on 11 it dropped. Then that's what we just rode. Honestly, we played lights out. We really were like, you know, hustling our ass off too, because, I mean, this course is not easy and those two meshed well. But we backed it up.
Q. You certainly did. Cheyenne, your chip-in on 7, I don't think I've ever seen you so excited on a golf course. What has this experience been like for you as a rookie in a Solheim Cup?
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: Oh, it's been amazing. It's been a dream of mine to represent my country. And, I mean, you always dream of big moments like that, like watching the Solheim Cup growing up. Angel was taking a drop and she didn't even realize, I feel like, I made it, so it was hysterical.
ANGEL YIN: I got to pitch in on this one. I was trying to get a drop and I'm like, oh, both of us are off the green.
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: We're not looking good.
ANGEL YIN: No, we're not looking good. And then they're like really close to the pin. Anna is like probably like nine feet. She's probably going to drain it. We're like, God.
I'm trying to take a drop with Missy and then the next thing, I look up, the ball is like going into the hole. I'm like, I don't need that drop anymore. I was so hyped. I was so hyped.
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: You're welcome. (Laughing.)
Q. When you are the only red up on the board, you had to hold on, that was a complete gut check. Tell me about that back nine.
CHEYENNE KNIGHT: Okay, well, Angel did awesome. We gave each other a pep talk on 11. We were hitting good shots, like two chances at birdie, but none of 'em were dropping. Won three holes in a row and just like a huge momentum shift. But credit to kind of our teamwork. We just really, like, were positive and hung in there.
Q. Angel, I watched you coming around the corner on 18 and on the second shot applauding yourself on those two amazing shots. How clutch were those?
ANGEL YIN: Yeah, I mean, it's good because we're 1-up, we want that point. We want that whole point. Especially in times like this. So that put me in a good momentum going into this 18th hole, drove the green, so it was good.
