Q. Just overall, to walk away from that 17th after that putt there, what was the game plan going on 17 tee?
ANGEL YIN: Win. I mean, we got -- Marcus was, we were just talking back and forth. He had my back. We were down 1-down, and then I was, like, Dude, have my back. He's like, I got you. And then we just had a pep talk and we were good.
1-up going to 17. I said, I'll make birdie and then see what she got. If not, we're going to go to 18, and we're going to do it because we have the upper hand. So that was pretty much the main mindset behind it.
Q. For you, what was the game plan -- what was the game plan coming into today just in general for you? Was it just play your own game against someone like Celine who also has had a really good season?
ANGEL YIN: I played against her in Vegas. It's pretty funny I got her because in the beginning of the week, someone asked like -- Oh, it was LPGA who asked me who I wanted to play against. I said Celine. She whooped my butt in Vegas, and I wanted a rematch, and I'm thankful that I got her again today. I think we just played it out. It was not easy. The wind was howling. And, I mean, she played great. Like I said yesterday, I just played better.
Q. What did you tell yourself when you kind of fell down there in the middle of the round?
ANGEL YIN: I just told my caddie, Come on, this is your time to give me a pep talk. He gave me a pep talk and that was it.
Q. What did he say?
ANGEL YIN: He just told me this is our holes coming up. Those were her holes, and I just need to do something, and I did it. I won that hole and I was fortunate enough to make my eagle, lost the next hole, but those two coming in, those are huge. I'm pretty lucky too.
Q. Would you say that the eagle was the game-changer?
ANGEL YIN: Definitely for me in my favor, but it wasn't the end game. It wasn't, like, okay, now the match is for Angel. No, it was still up in the air. Holes coming in were difficult, especially since Celine hit that beautiful shot in 15, and I just got caught in the rough, and I was like, shoot. I mean, to me, if I make a par, that was really good.
Q. What did you tell yourself before the putt right here?
ANGEL YIN: Make it. (Laughing.) Make it and we'll see.
Q. To go from being a captain's pick, it's been since 2019 that you have felt that first tee Sunday energy. What was that like for you today and just how did you use that to rise to the occasion?
ANGEL YIN: Yeah, so I mean, it's a bad way to put it, but it's not like I'm more used to it, but I played my first Solheim in 2017, so I've had a feel of what the first tee is like. So -- (crowd cheer.)
Yeah, what's Cheyenne doing? What was Cheyenne doing?
Q. To be able to grab a point as a captain's pick for Stacy, what does that mean to you?
ANGEL YIN: It means our team is 1 inch closer to freaking getting that Cup back, so that's all I care about.
