Q. Here with Elizabeth Szokol, 6-under 65 today. Take us through your round.
ELIZABETH SZOKOL: Yeah, it is a good day. I hit a lot of fairways and that definitely helped. I had a lot of good chances for birdie and got a few long putts to fall, so it was definitely a good day.
Got pretty windy out there, so happy to stay patient and have some putts fall.
Q. It seemed like the first couple days this course didn't have as many teeth in it until the wind picked up, but that didn't seem like an issue to you. Made seven birdies on the card. How was your putting today?
ELIZABETH SZOKOL: Putting was really good. I would say fairways were really key. The first round I played well and hit a lot of fairways, and yesterday struggled a little bit off the tee.
I just really tried to focus in on hitting fairways, so just kind of adjusted for the wind and definitely had a lot the putts fall, which was great.
Q. Did that wind up the major championship feel out there?
ELIZABETH SZOKOL: Definitely. Still feels like that sort of test of golf, and the wind definitely helped that.
Q. What's your mindset heading into tomorrow? What kind of experience are you drawing on from your experience at Marathon heading into Sunday?
ELIZABETH SZOKOL: Yeah, I played in the final group at Marathon, which was awesome, so I think kind of the same thing: Just stay patient and see how many putts will fall. Same game plan. Just hit fairways off the tee, and I feel like if I do that I'll have a pretty good chance.
Q. How to you assess the hospitality here at Mountain Ridge with the fans, the venue, the staff?
ELIZABETH SZOKOL: It's amazing. Just since we got here on Monday the golf course is amazing. The grounds crew has done an amazing job. The food is great, and it really does feel like a major, so we're really lucky to be here this week.
Q. How much does it mean to you to have Cognizant step up and make this tournament something even more special than it was before?
ELIZABETH SZOKOL: Yeah, it's so great of Cognizant. It's a biggest purse on tour that's not a major, and they've definitely made it feel like a major. Everyone is happy to be here, and it's awesome for them to step up like this for us.
