Q. Here with Maddie Szeryk. Five birdies, just a single bogey en route to that round of 68. Critical birdie at the last to jump to the top the leaderboard. How would you describe the round overall?
MADDIE SZERYK: It was just very solid. I made some really good par putts and a lot of my birdie putts were really close so wasn't too stressful.
Really steady day, so happy to start out of week that way.
Q. Did a lot of work on your game, especially after your rookie season last year. What do you feel like has clicked and come together for you this week?
MADDIE SZERYK: I think I'm just more confident out here. I knew that I put in the hard work in the off-season. Worked out a lot. Got a trainer. Practiced really hard and just took it to the next level because I knew I loved playing out here, so I just wanted to make sure that I can be successful.
Q. Found it come together here today. What will be the challenge of keeping that going the next three days?
MADDIE SZERYK: I think just to stay patient. I had a lot of chances and just know that I'm hitting it well and green speeds are great, so just staying patient and positive.
