Q. Solid 4-under 68; what was working so well for you out there?
MARIA PARRA: I played very good today. I hit the ball solid. I also made putts. But I think the most important was my irons. I hit a lot of greens, and then as I told you, I made good putts for par and also for birdie.
Q. Out on this golf course I take it hitting greens is kind of a hot commodity, you have to be on the green to --
MARIA PARRA: Yeah, the course has tough rough, and also the greens are very small, especially in this course more than the other one. Yeah, I think the most important thing is hit greens, and that's a good help to score.
Q. What was your mindset coming into this week? I know you've been out and about for a few years now. What were you thinking about heading into Q-school?
MARIA PARRA: I think it's one of the most important tournaments in the whole year. You need to be like patient in the course, and the most important thing is make pars. I mean, if you try to make pars and not like good looking for birdies, it's going to be better, like not playing so aggressive because we are like 188, I think, players here. If you try to make pars, some birdies are coming.
Q. Having that kind of prior experience, having been a three-time winner as a professional, do you feel more confident as a Q-school, or are you still just trying to keep things in check?
MARIA PARRA: I think it's all the same. It doesn't matter how many tournaments you win. This is a different tournament. This is -- you need to be confident here. It's like that, just one more tournament.
Q. What was your prep like to bolster your confidence before coming into this week?
MARIA PARRA: Actually I skipped the last tournament on Symetra because I get the top 68 or something like that, so I went to Spain and I was working with my coach the last week and a half or last week and two days, and I think that was a very, very good idea because we have been working together for 11 years, so he knows me perfectly, and we worked very hard that week and a half, and I think that showed today on the course.
Q. Having a hot start like this, how do you keep the expectations in check with three days of golf left to play?
MARIA PARRA: It's the same. I'm going to play tomorrow like a new day and also the next two days I'm going to play the same. Just trying to hit fairways, greens and be patient in the course and trying to make as much pars as I can do.
