Quick Quotes

Q. Ayaka, really good playing today. Six birdies on the card. Finished at 3-under. How did you find the Crossing course today?

AYAKA FURUE: Yeah, I had a lot of birdie chance, which was something I was looking for, so I'm really happy with the round today.

Q. I was talking to Kenny yesterday about the similarities between this golf course and the style of golf in Japanese golf. Do you feel more at home playing a golf course that feels like Japan?

AYAKA FURUE: To be honest, I didn't really think there was similarity, but lots of trees on the side, that was kind of similar to Japan, so...

Q. How did you prepare for this week and next two weeks for a really grueling Q-Series?

AYAKA FURUE: To be honest, nothing specific, but I knew that I would need momentum to play good this week.

So just, you know, I was really focused every game, and keep that momentum to these two weeks.

Q. Bermuda grass is tricky. You have to understand a lot of different things with this type of grass. Were you very familiar with bermuda grass before you got to Alabama?

AYAKA FURUE: Yeah, so to be honest, not really familiar with this grass, type of grass, so I'm not sure if I'm actually adjusting, but I have a pretty good feeling with the grass.

Q. Off to a really good start at 3-under. You're going to be chasing a little bit the rest of the week, but how good does it feel to get off to such a good start?

AYAKA FURUE: Yeah, it's just still the first day, but I feel like I was able to start off really good.

Q. And preparation, or I guess what positives are you going to take from today with you into tomorrow?

AYAKA FURUE: Yeah, especially the shot, I was striking the ball really well, so I would want to keep that for tomorrow, too.
