Q. So did you attend college to play golf? If so, what school?
SOFIA GARCIA: Yes, I started at Texas Tech 2016 and I was there for five seasons with the COVID year, so...
Q. And then what is your career-best finish or biggest accomplishment in the golf world?
SOFIA GARCIA: I have a few. I represent my country a lot of times in the World Am Team. I played the Pan American Games for my country and won a silver medal.
I made it to U.S. Open this year and made the cut. Won five individual college tournaments.
Q. Awesome. Congratulations. Then do you know your career-best round?
SOFIA GARCIA: 9-under, so 63.
Q. Then why did you decide to pursue professional golf as a career?
SOFIA GARCIA: Well, I always loved sports. I felt like my parents wanted me -- well, they knew I liked sports and I was dedicated enough to follow a career. I was very nationalistic and I wanted to travel and represent my country and all that sort of stuff.
So I kind of went along with that, and then in that way of having an amateur career, I saw myself following that career. I actually came to college to pursue a professional career. I didn't come -- the degree was obviously the (indiscernible), but I decided to move away from my home because of that.
Q. Awesome. And then what are your hobbies outside of golf? What do you like to do for fun?
SOFIA GARCIA: Well, I do some reading. When I'm home I try to spend a lot of time with my family and my friends. I feel like because we travel so much I don't get to do much when I go home. It's like, okay, bed.
But I try to, when I go home and I'm with my friends or I'm big Netflix watcher, so...
Q. Do you have a favorite book so far? You said you read.
SOFIA GARCIA: The Count of Monte Cristo.
Q. Okay. Do you have a favorite Netflix series?
SOFIA GARCIA: That's a really hard question. Friends is definitely all-time watcher. I think if I have -- if we going to stay in just one, we going to stay here long, Friends, cannot go wrong with that.
