Quick Quotes

Q. So, talk to me a little bit about how your third round went today.

MADDIE SZERYK: It was very solid. I made a couple birdies early and had a couple good par saves that kind of kept it going.

And then the back nine I think I just hit every green and had lots of birdie looks, but just the whole group was lipping out, but it was just very steady.

Q. And so do you think when you have a good momentum and a good group going that kind of encourages you to play well, too?

MADDIE SZERYK: Yeah, definitely. It was really fun. I knew Riley, and the other girl is really nice, too. It's just a good environment and just lots of fun just trying to keep things loose. Lots of golf left, so just trying to stay positive through it.

Q. Yeah. Ans with a lot of golf left and trying to stay positive, how do you also reset and recharge going into the next days?

MADDIE SZERYK: I think it's kind of nice the two different golf courses because, like, okay, I have a whole different game plan for that course, and it's kind of nice not to be like, okay, I played the same course every day.

Just to switch it up a little bit and just, you know, take it one day at a time because it's a marathon.

Q. And kind of cheesy, but what keeps you motivated and hungry to want to be the best and be on the LPGA?

MADDIE SZERYK: Yeah, I think having been able to be out on the LPGA a little bit this year I can see like, oh, I really love it out there. So just having that experience of knowing what it's like and having -- I had two really good tournaments, and just being up there and just seeing the environment and just like, okay, no, it's worth it, all the hard work. I just loved it out there.

So that is really what's driven me to work really hard for this.

Q. And what's one thing that's like more specific on why you love it so much?

MADDIE SZERYK: Just, you know, I grow up wanting to play on the LPGA and just realizing, oh, it's worth it, and just having my parents there sometimes and just the fan experience is so different and so cool.

I played well at the Canadian Open so that was really special. I had a lot of family out there. So just it's what I've grown up wanting to do and it's crazy to be like, okay, I did it; so just wanting to keep my card for next year.

Q. And what's the mindset going into tomorrow like?

MADDIE SZERYK: It's another day. It's round four of eight, so just taking to slow and just trying to start out steady and keep the foot on the pedal and keep it going.

Q. Almost halfway there.

MADDIE SZERYK: Yeah, exactly. Almost.

Q. Good luck tomorrow.

MADDIE SZERYK: Thank you.
