Quick Quotes

Q. All right, Alena, day four is done and dusted. This week is always a grind. What's kind of been the mentality for you over the last couple days?

ALENA SHARP: Was playing well at home coming into this and played well in Tampa, so I just, I don't know, trying to think like I'm playing with the guys at home at my home course. Really in my mind thinking it's an Epson Tour event because I've done well doing that.

I'm here by myself, so last time I pushed my bag I think I had a good finish. So just kind of mentally just putting my mind there instead of making a big deal.

Q. I was going to say, when was the last time? I feel like every time I've seen you I've always seen Sarah by your side, too.

ALENA SHARP: Yeah it's not easy not having you here. It was the best thing for our dog. Yeah, it's been a while. Since May. I mean, yeah, since May, so...

Q. Just in general, I know this week is kind of bittersweet for a lot of people as well. We've seen you on the tour for some years. Just in general what's been your mentality going into a week like this? I know you say like an Epson Tour event.

ALENA SHARP: Right.

Q. But knowing you're still putting up those good numbers.

ALENA SHARP: Yeah, next year will be my 20th year on Tour, so I want to go out with a bang. This will be my last Q-School. I said that last time. I mean it this time. (Laughter.)

Q. 20 years. When we saw Brittany and Angela stepping away this year, too, you didn't think of that, right, or...

ALENA SHARP: It's been on my mind for a couple years. I still hit it far enough and still enjoy playing the game. I'm going to give it maybe one or two more years, see how it goes.

Q. What will tomorrow be like for you?

ALENA SHARP: Well, I know it's going to rain a lot, so just kind of play steady. Obviously the course is giving low numbers with the soft conditions, so I feel like I put myself in a good position that just do what I have been doing the last few days.

Try to keep mistakes minimal and keep the ball below the hole.

Q. Yesterday, being able to rebound after the front nine and finish even par like that, how much did that back nine help carry over into today?

ALENA SHARP: I think it was really helpful to have a 3-under on that back nine. The Falls Course doesn't suit my eye as well as the Crossings does. I just was a little bit nervous yesterday to start and I could feel my tempo was off. Found it on the 8th hole and played really well coming in.

Yeah, nice to finish strong and come into today and just a little bit of adjustments in my setup and I thought I hit it really well. I should have been pretty low today like the other girls have gone low but the putts didn't drop.

So there is one more day.
