Q. Here with Lilia Vu, round of the day so far, a 7-under 65. There is one obvious thing I want to talk about today, there is that 1 on your card on No. 3. Take us through the hole in one.
LILIA VU: Yeah, I mean, it was 97 yards. Actually my 50 degree is what I hit, and this whole week I've been having trouble dialing it back just in between clubs, and so I was practicing on the range yesterday trying to get that 95, 100 number down, because I just keep flying it over past like ten yards.
So I looked at my caddie and I said, I think we got this. We practiced enough. We had 95, 100 yards every single day this week. So I just did it and it was early in the morning, and then caught the back stop and then it came back into the hole.
Q. Had you had at any other LPGA Tour events before, any holes in one?
LILIA VU: No. I've had one in a pro-am but not during a tournament, so it was really cool.
Q. What was your reaction? Were you like losing your mind? Some players play it cool.
LILIA VU: I basically said, oh, my God and then I was I was actually really glad that I hit the hole because I wasn't sure because it was spinning back so much and the water is right in front, so I was just thankful.
Q. Besides that obvious highlight, you had six other birdies on the card today. Hit 16 of 18 greens. Only needed 29 putts. How cutch has your ball striking been for you so far this week?
LILIA VU: I actually didn't feel that good this week. During the practice rounds I was kind of freaking out; I was hitting the balls everywhere.
And then after we just practiced, and it just started to click together once I got into the game mode.
Q. You were telling me things have been a little bit stressful. Was it because of that?
LILIA VU: Yeah, just not knowing where my game has been. I mean, I've had five weeks off because I didn't go to the Asia swing, so just kind of rusty.
Just trying it knock it off.
Q. What do you do to get yourself back in the competitive mindset?
LILIA VU: I play a lot every day. Playing on the course more so than practice, that really helps me, so I've been doing a lot of that.
Q. 9-under; probably going to be a few back heading into Sunday. Are you a person that likes to chase or are you more a person that likes to have the lead?
LILIA VU: Yeah, I like to chase. I love the weekend because I feel like there's -- it's just out there for you to get. There is birdies everywhere, so I get super excited about it.
Q. So you play more aggressively on Saturday and Sunday?
LILIA VU: Yes, absolutely.
Q. So you are a player that believes in moving day.
LILIA VU: Absolutely.
Q. Awesome. And how about the greens this week? I know you've got some experience around here, so they probably don't seem as unfamiliar. How have you found the poana?
LILIA VU: They were actually pretty difficult for me for the past two days. I was struggling. My caddie and I were just trying to figure out uphill putt, more firm, more inside the hole than outside.
Just a little bumpy during the afternoon, so I think we got it down today, so happy about that.
Q. With a UCLA connection it has to feel like a local event. We've got four events in California. How much do you enjoy this California swing?
LILIA VU: I love the west coast. I live, die, breathe California, so I love it here.
