Q. All right, here with Georgia Hall after her first round at The Chevron Championship. Posted a 2-under today after being in the afternoon wave. Talk a little bit about course conditions and what you saw out there.
GEORGIA HALL: It was pretty tough, to be honest. I wasn't expecting that much wind. I got off to a really good start, like 3-under after four, playing really well, and then just got a double.
I stay patient today, not really worrying about future holes or tee shots, because there are some tricky ones out there. Yeah, the course was definitely firm as well. Hitting into the greens and just hopefully my morning tee time will be a bit less windier tomorrow.
Q. Still in the top 10 right now. I know it's just the first round, but what kind of confidence does that give you to post a pretty solid round compared to the field?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, obviously just first day. Doesn't mean that much. Just happy with the way my game is. The leaderboard is like really bunched so not -- a few shots between either way.
So just try and start again tomorrow and try and shoot another good round.
Q. You mentioned you were expecting conditions tomorrow morning to be a little bit easier. How hard is it playing in the afternoon here versus the morning?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, normally afternoon tee times are a little bit windier. The greens held up really well. Wasn't bobbly. They rolled really good. I thought at times there was definitely like a two-club wind out there. I'm not sure how the morning tee times had it.
I know that I just, yeah, whatever comes tomorrow, just got to deal with it.
Q. How would you compare a 2-under afternoon round compared to a morning score?
GEORGIA HALL: If I shoot 2-under tomorrow?
Q. Comparatively, right, the morning conditions are easier. You shot 2-under this afternoon. What's that the equivalent of in a morning wave?
GEORGIA HALL: To be honest, I don't know how windy it was this morning. Could have been just the same. But like I say, I probably would've taken 2-under off the first hole.
As you see my scoreboard is a little bit up and down, but happy I got a lot of birdies out there. To have six birdies in any major in a round is good, so try and tidy up the rest tomorrow.
Q. What's the best part of your game right now?
GEORGIA HALL: Driving 100%. Any time that we can hit driver off a hole if I'm in between driver and 3-wood, I'm always just trying to hit driver. I've been hitting it really well and not doing much wrong with it, apart from a tee shot today.
But just feeling really confident, and that's all part of the game, just the mental side.
Q. How does the course compare this year to last year?
GEORGIA HALL: Definitely a little different. The ball is not running off as much. It's a little bit slower, so when you miss the green you've got closer to the hole which it's not as firm on that side of things.
But definitely I didn't see some of the pin positions today that were last year. There was definitely some tricky ones. All in all, slightly firmer than last year, the actual greens themselves, which will make it harder.
Q. Tougher pin positions you mean?
GEORGIA HALL: A few of them I wasn't quite expecting in round one, but I think it's great. Think they should be tough. It's a major.
