Q. All right, welcome Jenny Shin here to the CPKC Women's Open media center. Really good round today; 5-under. That's one of the lowest we've seen of the day. What was your motivation coming into the round and just shooting a low score?
JENNY SHIN: Motivation? Very cliche, but just one shot at a time today. I had too much coffee in the morning. Had really bad acid reflux, so I was really struggling with that most of the day.
The first nine was pretty miserable for me. I had a few shots coming in, and those reachable par-5s helped a lot. So the birdie and the eagle, yeah, that kind of was a turning point.
Q. Yeah. Obviously this will be probably Top 5 finish for you. You've been on a good stretch of golf. I think top 10 and maybe Top 12 at Evian. What's good about your game right now that you're feeling happy with?
JENNY SHIN: Monday of Evian I changed my putter from mallet to a blade and that's been working out really well for me.
Yeah, I had some revelations about my shots Sunday of the U.S. Open this year, and been kind of riding on that wagon.
Yeah, it's been working out.
Q. What was the revelation, if you don't mind sharing?
JENNY SHIN: Actually playing with Charley Hull, she is -- she looks so carefree when she plays. It's not something that I am really good at, so kind of watching her made me free up a little bit.
Then I realized how, yeah, how much I was overthinking and how much I was overanalyzing everything.
So I've let go partially I guess, yeah.
Q. And last question: Last start here at the CPKC Women's Open was in 2019. How happy are you to be back at this event which I know is a player favorite and see such a good result?
JENNY SHIN: Yeah, it's been unfortunate. In the last few years I had a conflicting event in Korea with my main sponsor so I couldn't participate, but Canadian Open is known to have -- they're always hosting at one of the best golf courses in Canada and this was not an exception.
It was very difficult. It was in pristine conditions and so I'm very happy to be back in Canada, especially in Calgary, right next to Banff. I'll be doing some exploring tomorrow. So, yeah, happy to be back here.
