Andrea Lee

Quick Quotes

Q. Andrea, just take me through what this third day was like for you. You're feeling a little bit better. Some rest under your belt. Take me through what was working on day three.

ANDREA LEE: Yeah, a little slow overall today I think. Started off with a bogey, but stayed really patient on the front nine. Managed to get four birdies coming in to end 2-under.

The back nine was just pretty steady. Nothing exciting. Just all pars and then a bogey at the last hole, 18. It's just so tough for everyone out there.

Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the way I played and just staying really patient out there.

Q. How important is it to stay patient when you know it is that string of pars, it's not an explosion of birdies that you would hope for?

ANDREA LEE: Yeah, it can be frustrating, but at the same time, you just got to keep going because the second you get frustrated and make another bogey, it just kind of adds to that.

So par is always a good score. Just kind of trying to minimize the mistakes and make as many birdies as I can.

But unfortunately it doesn't always go that way.

Q. The back nine has been a challenge for a lot of people over the last couple days. To just look at how much you have still progressed and are still in kind of contention spot, how comfortable do you feel heading into tomorrow?

ANDREA LEE: Yeah, I'm really excited. I love being in contention and being in the top 10. It's a great feeling.

I'm playing really solid so I'm excited to tee it up tomorrow and just hopefully make a lot of birdies.

Q. When you think about you at the beginning of this year and you now, fighting for contention, we saw it at PV, which was maybe possibly the spark for the rest of the season, but when you think of the Andrea Lee now as opposed to the beginning of the year, does it feel like there is some satisfaction knowing that you're still in contention here on the LPGA Tour?

ANDREA LEE: Yeah, definitely. Like I've said in many interviews this year, I didn't even expect to have full status on the LPGA for 2022, so just to even be in this position, I'm very grateful for.

Putting myself in contention a few times this year has really helped with my confidence and just kind of tells me that I can compete out here against the best.

So just hoping to continue with that momentum.
