Q. Here now with Lydia Ko after her third round here at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G. As we were walking over here you were rubbing the block on your neck. How were you able to combat some of this heat and put up the performance you did?
LYDIA KO: Yeah, I think it was a good thing we tee'd off still in the morning to have at least a few holes where it was a little cooler than now.
This week it's been hot but the weather has been really nice. It's been consistent. The wind hasn't been, you know, that strong, which is one of the biggest factors we've had to deal with the past few weeks.
Yeah, no, in a way it's good that summer is still here. I feel like we're soon about to hit our fall, spring, especially in Asia. It's hot and sometimes a struggle to keep yourself cool, but I'm not complaining. This is much nicer than being bundled up with four layers behind an umbrella.
Q. Just lurking now heading into tomorrow, what's been working for you maybe this week that you're taking into tomorrow as well as you try to hunt down a victory?
LYDIA KO: I think all in all I've been really consistent with my ball striking. The putting has been the most average part of my game this week. I've still been able to make crucial putts at the right time.
Sometimes when you do give yourself so many opportunities you feel like you're not putting as well as actually you are, so I was just trying to not get down on myself. If I keep giving myself the birdie looks, at one point it's going to fall.
I've been doing that fairly well, and this golf course is the style that you have to keep giving yourself those chances. You know, hopefully a bunch of them fall. Yeah, been playing solid the past three days and hopefully just more of that tomorrow.
Q. How have you been battling -- it's been firmer out there in the afternoons. How have you been battling those firmer conditions?
LYDIA KO: Yeah, it's almost been a 360 change from Monday when I played here to now. Feels like a U.S. Open almost because you turn up to U.S. Opens some week and from Sunday to Sunday it's a completely different golf course.
This golf courses has been like that. I had some mud on some of my balls in the practice rounds, but here I think one of my drives went 311, and that's obviously not my average driving length.
The course is firming up. In some ways because it is rolling out more you've got shorter clubs in, but it also makes some pin positions more difficult to get to.
So just trying to be smart and I think keeping it on the fairway is a big factor around here, especially when it is getting firmer.
