Q. You never could get ahead but you always stayed close. What's the mindset in a match like this?
PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I think we just kept on pedaling, tried to give ourselves the best chance as possible, so got it done on the last hole, so it was pretty good.
Q. Atthaya, do you ever think about letting yourself getting down? You were only down by one. This was a tight match. But you also never led. When you see the 1-up on the Japan side, what's going through your mind?
ATTHAYA THITIKUL: Nothing. What's going on in my mind, make as many birdies as we can, and then the good thing is we know that we have each other, like she got my back, I got her back, which is good for us.
Q. Did you guys know you wanted to play together?
PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I feel like we're pretty comfortable with each other because we played a lot in junior golf together, and then the sisters are obviously comfortable together.
We don't know the strategy yet. We'll come back and sit down and talk if we want some changes, but I think we had a good group. Like I said, good vibes, so everyone will cheer each other on.
Q. Atthaya, what do you take from today now that you've been out here for one day in competition that you'll take to the second round tomorrow?
ATTHAYA THITIKUL: I mean, I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. Our pairing can change or maybe not, but what we have to do is everyone do the best that they can. This week it's kind of really ball-striking week, so we're trying to keep it on the fairway and then find the green. It's the big key for this week, I guess.
Q. It didn't seem as cold today.
PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, we got lucky.
