THE MODERATOR: Here with another victorious Sweden team after today's matches. Caroline, we'll start with you. Y'all closed it out on 17 2 & 1, but that putt on 16 was pretty big there.
What were you seeing there?
CAROLINE HEDWALL: Wanted to make that putt, to be honest, to put pressure. But it was really nice to see it go in. We made two really good putts on 15, as well, so I felt like I had the momentum going, but obviously really nice to go 2-up with two to go.
Q. Anna, I know it was a little more challenging of a match than yesterday, but how did you hang tough and really close it out?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, I think we got off to a really good start. I think we birdied five of the first six holes, so it was just playing really tough once it got cold and once we were making the turn.
I felt we had a really good opportunity on 8 to go 4-up, it just missed, and then they made a good birdie putt on 9 and all of a sudden it was 2. And it went a little bit back and forth, but I felt like we had a few chances. Just tough with the wind and tough to get it close.
But Caroline obviously came in clutch there on 15 and 16. Happy we won today.
Q. Madelene, from your perspective, I know another 2 & 1 match, came to 17. Played steady again today. How did you manage the tougher, chillier conditions?
MADELENE SAGSTROM: I think I hit my irons pretty good today, so I told Maja I hit some good shots out of the trees and stuff. I was like, don't worry, don't count me out, I'll be fine.
Been putting really well for two days. I struggled a bit with my putting earlier this year and now I'm starting to find back to myself again. What's worked really well for us is we've been bouncing back and forth. She does a good hole, I do a good hole.
It's been extremely comfortable having her by my side and so much belief in her and her game. It's just so much fun.
Q. Maja, does it free you up when she makes a birdie that you can go make a birdie?
MAJA STARK: Yeah, she's been playing so well the past couple days, and she said, don't count me out, even though I'm in the trees. We've said that she's hit a couple of amazing shots from the trees. Yeah, I'm so confident in her abilities, so I feel like I can go for more pins, and yeah, have that confidence myself to actually try to get it close every time.
Q. Anna, you've played in almost 40 team events in your career between the Solheim Cup and International Crown for Sweden. How do you feel that experience has served you as now Sweden is advancing to the semifinal?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Well, I'm really proud of my team. I think we've all grown up with a lot of match play, a lot of playing for Sweden in the European team events and the World Amateur Championships. I think we're just very comfortable and very confident.
There's just something special to it. We fight until the end. It's match play; you never know what's going to happen. It can go either way.
I feel like we've had a lot of fun this week, and I feel like that's been working to our advantage.
Q. Are there moments on the course today that you might not have handled as well earlier in your career now with that experience under your belt?
ANNA NORDQVIST: I mean, I feel like match play, yeah, you've got to play a lot of match play to kind of figure it out. We came out cruising, and you can never count them out. Even just a short putt, you miss it, or you lip out, and it's just such a momentum swing.
I feel like you've just got to fight until the end, and I think that's what Caroline did. She hit a lot of good putts today that didn't go in, so they finally dropped at the end when they mattered the most.
Q. Madelene, you mentioned you're getting back to yourself with your putter. Was there anything you worked on before this week that's clicked?
MADELENE SAGSTROM: I mean, I putted really well last season and then I made a few changes in the off-season, and they did not work out, so I'm going back to what I did last year. It's nothing changing.
I've been doing AimPoint for two years now, and that's been the big key to my game. It's just freed up my speed, and I've just made a lot of putts that way.
I think what's important this week is trying not to get too aggressive when you can. I still need to hit the putt the way I like to hit them, and I've been trying to stay very consistent to that, so it's been good.
Q. What did you try and no longer do?
MADELENE SAGSTROM: I tried to keep my level a little bit more outside of the bag, and that just did not work for me. I was not committing as much to my lines and kind of lost my speed a little bit, so I went back to doing what I used to do.
Q. Does the approach change tomorrow night now that you know you're playing Sunday?
MADELENE SAGSTROM: No, not at all. I think everyone likes playing good golf. I think playing good golf spurs confidence so winning every match is always our goal, so we're going to go out there and try to do the same.
