Quick Quotes

Q. Here with a victorious Team Thailand who will be in the finals later this afternoon. Atthaya, you got the first point on the board. How important was it to get that first point to let your teammates go for it in the last few matches?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: I know the first match is pretty important for all the teams, and I tried to get the point for them, like to play easier for the last two matches. Then just did my best out there, and then I believe I just get in and try to just get the point.

Q. Patty, what was the strategy in deciding who would play singles, and obviously the Jutanugarns were going to play together in the foursomes?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, their chemistry is pretty good, and I feel like we're both kind of confident in our games enough to play singles.

And again, it's match play; anything can happen. I played okay today and she played well today. Got that first point. And I was trying to tie the match at the end, but I did the best I could and just ended up like that.

I think we're going to keep everything the same.

Q. You obviously screamed the loudest when that putt from Ariya dropped on 17. The adrenaline, can you describe those emotions?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, I think the adrenaline and the whole day, we have little crowds here, so just screaming and just cheering them on, I just feel like we have some fans and supports, too, because, I mean, we're in the U.S. soil. Like they're always going to have more fans.

Q. Ariya, just tell me about that putt on 17. That was clutch. Coming up in the clutch all week, but that was really clutch.

ARIYA JUTANUGARN: I will say I feel bad for my sister because I keep missing the putts, and I felt like 17 I need to make one. That's all in my mind. I need to make this one.

Q. Mo, what does it mean to be able to close out that match on 18 and fight your way through it?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: Well, playing against USA, it's actually a really big match for us and it's very tight and they both are very good players. But we just tried to play one shot at a time, and we tried to support each other and make sure we got like 100 percent commitment out there.

Outcome is something you can't really expecting, so you just have to do your best.

Q. What was it like to play against the U.S.? You sort of referenced it, in this setting, with obviously the crowd support and very highly ranked players. How difficult did that make your job and how satisfying winning?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: They're great players, but at the end of the day, like I said again, it's match play; anything can happen. It's just basically hole by hole, shot by shot.

They're a tough team, but we're here to play, as well. Even though we might be the lower ranked team. But at the end of the day, we start from hole 1 to hole 18, it's all equal game.

Q. What was the atmosphere like with the fans mostly supporting the U.S.?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, they were loud, which is okay. You're supporting your country. I'm sure in Thailand, if you're at the Honda LPGA we're loud, too.

Q. Every one of you got off to a quick start this morning, 2-up through 5. What contributed to each one of your matches winning so quickly?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: I think we have more confident going to the final round. Three days we had a solid matches. We won all the matches, so I think we had a lot more confidence and more comfortable going into the final round.

Q. What are you planning to do between now and the start of the finals?

ARIYA JUTANUGARN: Rest. We need food.

Q. What do you think about the course and how it suited this event? What made it hard? What made it --

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I like this course so I can't really say much for the other girls, but it's for a little bit of a longer hitter, I feel like.

If anything, it is a ball-striking course, so luckily we all executed pretty well this week so far.

Q. Why did you like it? What about it? The trees?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: It fits my eyes. I love the northwest. This is like not north as much, but I do like north in California and just the bentgrass, and this is all me, though.

And then I like won regionals here, so a lot of good memories.

Q. Moriya, could you talk about the yardage that you had in on the second shot on 18?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: I think it's like 207 to the front, and what's the pin?

ARIYA JUTANUGARN: 229.

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: If it's 207 then...

ARIYA JUTANUGARN: She should know this.

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: 227 hole.

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: 227. I actually totally forget. And I knew I just had to hit it hard to get it on the green.
