Q. When you look back on this event and see what International Crown means on the LPGA schedule, what's your takeaway?
LEXI THOMPSON: Honestly, I feel like we're all just so grateful for this opportunity to be able to represent our country. I think it's a great idea. Solheim is just U.S. against Europe, but International Crown came in and now eight different countries can represent their country and teams. It's just a great opportunity for these girls to be able to wear their country's colors and come out and represent because golf is such an individual sport that a lot of these girls don't get the opportunity very often.
Q. The United States does get a chance to play Solheim Cup and you have a chance to be with this kind of team aspect. What is it in particular about this foursome of girls that competed for Team USA is most special?
LEXI THOMPSON: These girls are great. Coming into the week, we were like, who wants to play with who. I was like, we all get along with each other and we know each other's games pretty well and we're all playing good golf. It didn't really matter, I feel, with how we matched up. I think we were all going to really embrace each other's energies and golf games and be there for one another, and that's all about team golf.
Q. A lot more fans out today; better conditions for the fans to come out. How unique is it for the different fans to be able to represent and cheer for some of the different countries?
LEXI THOMPSON: I think it's great. Having team events like this, I think, brings a wider fan base for us. I think fans really enjoy it, and I think there's a lot more energy out here and people cheering and things like that. We got big crowds today.
I think it's important for women's golf in general, too, to have these events.
Q. What about the match play aspect of this event? A little bit of a change in format this year. How much does that change your approach to the game?
LEXI THOMPSON: Again, match play in general, it's a whole different ballgame teeing it up because you never know. Whoever you get can play just lights out and you lose. But you just take it one shot at a time, and it can flip by a switch. You just really have to focus on your own game and kind of base it off the other person's game, too, shot by shot.
But I think it's a great format. Tiring, this last day, a little bit, but I think it was great for International Crown. We're just very grateful that Hanwha came in and took over this event and brought it back.
