Quick Quotes

Q. Here with the U.S. Team, our third-place winners at the Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown. This question is for any of you. How proud are you to have placed in your home country at this event?

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, as Lexi and we said earlier in the week, playing for our country is probably the greatest honor.

And we didn't have the morning that we probably envisioned, but to come out and place third and to beat Sweden in the afternoon after kind of losing to them on, I think, was it Friday or Saturday -- yesterday?

Q. It was Saturday, yeah.

NELLY KORDA: It felt really good, as well.

Q. Danielle, you're from this area. Was TPC Harding Park everything you expected, and was being home really great this week for you?

DANIELLE KANG: Honestly, playing with these girls was everything I expected because without them I don't know what I would have scored.

Oh, gosh. So I learned a lot even by playing alongside them and watching them and how they approach certain shots, and I definitely didn't give them an easy task some days.

So I really appreciate my team, and like Nelly and Lexi and everyone says here, we're just really proud to represent our country and wear the USA flag and be proud.

Q. Lexi, really dominating performance from you today. What were some of the best parts of your round, and what did you learn this morning that helped you this afternoon?

LEXI THOMPSON: Well, I played pretty solid this morning. Atthaya played amazing golf. I think she was 5- or 6-under, and then Maja played great golf, as well this afternoon. We both made a good amount of birdies, and I knew that coming into the afternoon because I played with her yesterday, as well.

So I knew I had to go out there play aggressive make birdies because I knew she was going to do, as well. And I just took it one shot at a time, and that's match play, but she played great golf, as well.

Q. Lilia, what would you say the highlight of your week and being a part of this team has been?

LILIA VU: I think just getting to know everybody better. I feel like I've gotten to know Nelly a lot better and DK and Lexi a bit, too, so just hanging out with them and being a part of -- they're amazing players, so just to be a part of the team with them is great.

Q. Hanwha did a really great job with this event. Lexi, you've played here before. How was this event overall in general, and how fond are you of playing in Crown? This was your fourth time.

LEXI THOMPSON: Well, I haven't played this golf course before, but I've played in International Crowns, and it's such a great experience. Not only to be able to represent your country but Hanwha did a great job making us feel very welcomed and being able to support this event and giving us the opportunity to represent our country and give a bunch of other players from different countries, as well, to do the same.

It's a great opportunity for them, and I think we're all very grateful for it.

Q. Nelly, you've medaled for your country before and here's another third-place result. Tell us how it feels to have another medal under your name.

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, it feels great, but to do it alongside these girls felt really good, too. As Lexi said, I feel like we've just preached this week, representing your country, there's nothing like it.

To be able to get a medal for our country feels really good, and alongside a great group of girls, too.
