Press Conference

Q. Okay, Rose, first trip ever to Japan. How is it going this week? How much are you enjoying it?

ROSE ZHANG: It's been incredible. I'm enjoying it so much. It's been really cool to be back in Japan. I was in Japan in 2019 and I had only good vibes from here, so being able to eat Japanese food, see the Japanese culture, and just walk around a little bit, it's really refreshing.

Q. I know this is week five now, the last of your trip in Asia. How are you feeling?

ROSE ZHANG: I'm feeling a little dead. I'm not going to lie. It's been quite a long journey I would say. Even though it's only five weeks, it's still pretty significant, tolling on the body. So I'm kind of glad this will be my last one.

Hopefully I end it with a good note, and no matter what, pretty proud of how I was able to handle the last couple weeks and going into this week.

Q. Yeah. After your T3 finish last week, what were some takeaways you're bringing into this week?

ROSE ZHANG: I think the takeaway is just to be confident in my game no matter what, have a solid game plan, and be able to do my best. I know that I'm capable of playing well, so that gives me a good amount of confidence to try and execute whatever I can this week.

Q. I know you have seen the course a couple times now. What are your impressions of it and how it may suit you?

ROSE ZHANG: Yeah, it's really cool. It's really nice, a great course with great weather. The greens are pretty difficult to read. There is a lot of left-to-right slopes, but also slopes that look like they're going to go one way, but they end up going the other.

And in terms of fairways and going on the green, you have to be precise with your irons and driver for sure. So a lot of positioning.

Q. Last question from me: I know this is your last tournament before CME. How are you using this week and how will you use next week to prepare for the last event of the year?

ROSE ZHANG: Exactly. So it's been quite a long season in my opinion, even though I only started my LPGA season back in June. But I'm excited to be able to just learn whatever I can from this week, and then next week have a little bit of time off. Probably go up to Stanford, figure out my school stuff right before I head there in the winter.

From there, I'll head to CME with a more refreshed mind hopefully.
