Q. Take me through your round today. I think six birdies, right, and a bogey?
ALBANE VALENZUELA: Yeah.
Q. Take me through that.
ALBANE VALENZUELA: Six birdies and a bogey. I feel like I played pretty solid. My game has been good for a few weeks but just haven't been able to score, so it's just nice to put finally a round in the 60s in round one.
Excited for the next three days.
Q. Looking at the CME leaderboard heading into this week, you're right there on the bubble. How big of a goal is it to get in CME, and how are you using this week?
ALBANE VALENZUELA: Yeah, obviously it's a huge season goal. I have to play well. Obviously being on the bubble and having all the girls compete in the next two weeks it's a challenge, but I'm excited for it.
If I make it, I make it. If I don't, I don't. But it's definitely a big goal of mine.
Q. What was it you liked about this course in terms of suiting your game today?
ALBANE VALENZUELA: I just feel like I had a lot of good wedge numbers in, and just focusing more on the par-5s. I feel like that was the part lacking in the last few weeks. Haven't been able to capitalize on them.
So getting three out of four today was good. Yeah, I just like it.
Q. As you're heading into this last event or so of this season, how would you recap your season and your goals for this week?
ALBANE VALENZUELA: Up and down, rollercoaster season for sure. Had a good start of the season, few Top 10s, went through a big slump, few challenges, personal and golf-wise as well. So a little harder, but hopefully we'll end on a happy note in the last two weeks.
