Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Okay, here with Rio Takeda; first win here at Blue Bay LPGA. Second win overall. First win the 2025. How do you feel after winning this event?

RIO TAKEDA: At the final day I started at the top and I had a desire to win this tournament. I could win this tournament finally, so I feel really great now.

Q. Bogey-free in the final round of play; also in one of your earlier rounds. What is it about this course that you were able to do is well and stay out of getting bogey?

RIO TAKEDA: I had a couple putts which was two meter for the par putt and it was really difficult but I could make it.

Q. You won eight times last year on the JLPGA; obviously won today. How different does this win feel compared to winning in Japan?

RIO TAKEDA: I'm really happy with this. Really happy to win this tournament because the course layout, it's really, really different. Like compared to Japanese course. So I had so many winning at the JLPGA but this winning is meaningful.

Q. With so many young talented Japanese players on tour now, how good does it feel to win and stand out a little bit amongst some of the other Japanese rookies and other young players we have?

RIO TAKEDA: I could win this tournament because my strongest point is driving distance, so it worked well this tournament.

Q. Your mom is here and travels with you. How helpful is it to have her out here and be a support system for you?

RIO TAKEDA: I appreciate my mom and I could focus like everything including golf and other thing, too. So I really appreciated being with mom all the time.

Q. Now that you've won, is there another goal you have in mind for the rest of the 2025 season?

RIO TAKEDA: I have a tournament in U.S. so I will try my best in the U.S. too.
