Q. Here with Ruixin Liu after her third round at the FM Championship. It was a really spectacular round. I think your best round on tour, 64. Take me through the day and if you felt like you were really grooving out there.
RUIXIN LIU: You know, I feel like I'm playing kind of crazy today because starting with two birdies, you know, off the gate. I don't have any expectation today because barely made the cut, especially with 18-yards putt on 17 and a four-yards putt on 18 to make the putt.
I'm just very grateful I'm able to play today, so I think that's the most important reason why I'm able to shoot this low.
Q. TPC Boston was certainly a challenge the last couple days. What was different about the course, if anything, today?
RUIXIN LIU: I think the course played shorter today. They moved the tee up a few holes so we were able to reach the par-5 in two.
For me the biggest difference is I was able to hit more fairways compared to the first two days, so I gave myself more opportunities for birdies.
Q. Any sort of highlights from the round out there? I know you mentioned 10. Can you take us through that hole?
RUIXIN LIU: Yeah, so No. 10 is very interesting for me this week because I had a nine on the first round, on my very first hole, so to come back from that was very interesting.
Today, huge revenge on me. My second shot 122 yards, 48 degrees. I just hit it into the hole for eagle. So that was a big win against hole No. 10.
Q. As you said, you played with less pressure, you were relaxed, nothing to lose. How were you able to do that?
RUIXIN LIU: I think we should, you know, to be stress-free. I think that's the way I should play. But going into tomorrow obviously I'm going to have a better position than how I started today.
But that's what I'm going to try to do: be relaxed and don't have any expectations.
Q. Is this your first time playing at this course?
RUIXIN LIU: Yes.
Q. When you play two rounds Thursday and Friday, how important is it to take the lessons from those two days and incorporate them into how you manage the course today?
RUIXIN LIU: I think I'm a quick learner, and my caddie, John, helps a lot with the club selection and moving the target based on what we did the first two days. I think that really helps with driver.
I think I hit more fairways than the first two days. That's the most important thing, yeah.
Q. I wanted to ask about your tee shot on 18. You were able to back away when you heard a cart coming. For most golfers, even for hackers, it's really tough when you set up to stop yourself.
RUIXIN LIU: Uh-huh.
Q. How were you able to do that?
RUIXIN LIU: That cart I think was diesel will very loud, so not electric golf cart, so I wasn't able to concentrate. Plus the wind all of a sudden changed to hurting wind, which we don't want on that par-5.
So two things combined together. I was able to pull myself out and refocus and reenter the shot.
Q. What's the plan for the rest of the day?
RUIXIN LIU: I might take a nap. I don't know if I'm going to come back to putt or not. Basically how I feel after the nap. I woke up at 4:30 this morning. I really need some sleep right now.
