JOHN DEVER: Welcome to the 43rd Ryder Cup.

Q. You guys are obviously very familiar with each other, you grew up playing together, went to college together. How much did that help in the victory today?

BROOKS KOEPKA: I think there's some part of knowing your partner and understanding the little nuances, comfortable over a shot, they love it, they don't like it, you can tell and that helps. We played really well today, solid and hit a lot of good putts that didn't even go in. Played solid tee-to-green as well.

DANIEL BERGER: We have two different styles of games. I'm more methodical and he's more bomb-and-gauge. When you pair us up together, we complement each other's games. And I felt like we could have played much better today, but in the end the bottom line is we have to earn a point, and we did that today.

Q. Just considering your different Ryder Cup experience, how satisfying is it to put that first point of the tournament on the board?

BROOKS KOEPKA: Yeah, do what you're supposed to do, go out and win our match, and that's all we can do and did that. Pretty pleased.

DANIEL BERGER: Yeah, try to focus on one match at a time and not look too far ahead and get the job done when your name is called.

Q. If you can both talk more about the special bond you have going back through the years and how that comes to the fore, and Brooks, that rather special play that you have, the ball went in the air and then the running back?

BROOKS KOEPKA: The what?

Q. If you can pick up on the friendship and the special play.

BROOKS KOEPKA: Yeah, I mean, I've known -- probably knew about -- you're, what, three years younger I think? He probably played a little bit more with my brother, or I guess I knew about him more than probably we played. I knew he was a good player. Growing up in the same area. I think college helped a lot. I mean, basically hanging out 24/7 pretty much. It was fun. We had a great time there at school. Had a great time out here today.

So I love the pairing. I like it. I'm comfortable with him. Like I said, I kind of know what he's thinking, what he's doing before he even does it. So it makes it a lot easier.

DANIEL BERGER: I would say it's not tough to partner up with a four-time Major Champion. So you know, he's really good at golf and he hits a lot of great golf shots. Just try to put them in the fairway and make putts when I had putts.
