Q. Pretty happy with how you played?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I'm happy. I would have liked to have made a few more birdies, but no bogeys is always good. Keep the card clean. I didn't make as many putts, I haven't made as many putts I want to the past few days, but I feel like I'm hitting the ball good and rolling it well. Just going to wait and they will start going in.
Q. Xander is up six shots right now. Going into tomorrow, how do you feel possibly being back five or six shots going in?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Well we'll see how many he ends up ahead of me at the end of the day. He's still got a lot of golf left and there's not much wind and going to be plenty of birdies. But maybe go out and do something crazy tomorrow and see what happens.
Q. Like Jim Furyk?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah.
Q. Were working you on stuff late on the range. Anything in particular?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Was I on the range late last night? You got the wrong guy. (Laughing) Yesterday? No, I wasn't on the range late. Unless I was picking up dinner or something. (Laughing).
Q. Is there a number in mind that you need to have tomorrow?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: No, who knows. It's so early in the day today. Those guys are only through six or seven holes. So I have no idea what the leaderboard's going to look like. I would like to have made a few more birdies today and put myself in a better position but can't go back in time.
Q. Can you talk about the ovation you got there on 18. What does that feel like, kind of hot day, long round, can you just talk about getting that support?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, it was a hot day. Usually these days don't feel too hot for me being from Texas, but we've been up here for so long, kind of getting used to the cold weather. It was definitely cool to get that ovation. The fans have been nothing but good to me this week. It's been a lot of fun playing in front of them and to get their support and kind of that last burst of energy walking up the hill on 18 was a lot of fun.
Q. What was working better today? Your best round of the tournament this year. What was working better for you?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I just avoided the mistakes. The first two days I missed some putts maybe I should have made. Some shorter ones. Today I was a lot more solid inside 10 feet. Probably the only difference.
Q. Go rest up now? Peek in later on to see what the leaderboard is at?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I'll go home and chill and do nothing for a little while. Not going to watch golf. Never been a huge golf watcher. Maybe turn it on in the background. I don't know what's in store for us yet this afternoon, I'm just going to go hit a few putts and get out of here.
Q. Michael Thorbjornsen is on the leaderboard. Amateur, 20-year-old, Stanford kid. Do you know anything about him? He played last week at the U.S. Open. Have you seen his name?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I've seen his name, I haven't him hit a shot, I haven't seen him do anything. But any time you see a kid who is 20 years old up on the leaderboard you know he's got a lot of talent and also no fear. That's kind of big. Because there's tons of guys in college that are really talented and they get out here and maybe they're not really sure how talented they are and they come out maybe a touch tight. I did that a few times in my professional starts as an amateur. You don't really know what to expect, so for a kid to come out here and put his name up on the leaderboard is really impressive.
