Q. When you birdied 11 what was kind of going through your head as you knew you were one back?
MICHAEL THORBJORNSEN: I didn't really know I was one back. I figured I was around there, but I was thinking, Okay, well, let's go. Let's keep it going. Let's try and hit some good shots.
It got a little difficult there, two holes straight into the wind, mishit two drives there. But overall it was a lot of fun.
Q. What was it like walking up 18?
MICHAEL THORBJORNSEN: It was incredible. It was surreal. I can't even -- like it's better than like what I, how I dreamt about it. It's so loud. It was very welcoming. I can't wait to come back next year and the following years.
Q. Does how you play this week change your plans?
MICHAEL THORBJORNSEN: No, I'm still going to go back to my junior year. I'm just taking it one year at a time.
Q. Do you see this being a tournament that you're going to want to come back to?
MICHAEL THORBJORNSEN: Oh, definitely. Hospitality here is amazing. I love the course, love the way it fits my game. I guess the only thing is it might be a little too hot, but I will definitely come back here if I can.
Q. What's it say about your game as you go back to college looking into the future? Do you feel like this helped you know that you belong out here?
MICHAEL THORBJORNSEN: Yeah, I definitely would say so. It gives me some confidence. I think the thing is that I played well, I felt like I played well, but I didn't feel like I played like incredible out there. Definitely left a couple shots out there, had some miscues, mental errors throughout the week. But it feels good. I played solid and finished in 4th, I think.
Q. Have you heard from any famous Stanford alums this week at all?
MICHAEL THORBJORNSEN: Patrick Rodgers reached out to me like yesterday or two days ago. That's about it.
Q. Tiger?
MICHAEL THORBJORNSEN: No.
Q. (No microphone.)
MICHAEL THORBJORNSEN: Had a couple friends, some family, my dad, who is also my swing coach out here. Which has been nice. He's been in the States for the past two weeks. It's been a lot of fun, Drew on the bag the past two weeks as well. Yeah, I mean they make me feel more comfortable out there, it's really nice.
Q. (No Microphone.)
MICHAEL THORBJORNSEN: Yeah, definitely. Yeah.
Q. Where are you flying to?
MICHAEL THORBJORNSEN: I'm going to London for a British Open qualifier Tuesday.
