Q. Not easy, but you made it look pretty decently easy for the first couple rounds here. Talk about making the cut and playing the weekend.
ANDREW SVOBODA: Yeah, I'm excited. My goal was pretty much make the cut. Played last week; missed the cut by one, so that was disappointing.
I played pretty well on this course. I've made the cut here before. It sets up good for me. I putted really well today was really the difference.
Q. Ben was talking about Great River. It's got to be great for the two of you out here to represent Connecticut the way you have, and the same golf course, even though there is not a lot of history between the two of you.
ANDREW SVOBODA: Yeah, I think it's really cool that Ben James grew up at Great River, he won the club championship there three or four times when he was like 14 years old.
He's a star player. He really hits the ball far and he's had an unbelievable college career. I think he was Rookie of the Year at Virginia. Yeah, got a bright future. I wish I had that kind of power. He's got a good demeanor, too. I think he'll have a lot of the success out here once he plays a little more.
Q. What were you reading on the greens today? I mean, you noticed putted really well. What were you seeing out there?
ANDREW SVOBODA: I don't know. They were going in. It was weird. I don't know. I made some long ones.
I mean, I'm generally a good putter. I just don't think I putted to my potential on this tour. I've putted pretty well on the Korn Ferry Tour. I don't know why.
Yeah, I mean, some days they go in. The greens were perfect. I was seeing the line. I made some long putts, some 40-foot putts, yeah.
Q. Do you have any family, friends out here today?
ANDREW SVOBODA: Yeah, my sister, Sierra (phonetic) and my niece, Ally (phonetic), and then a whole bunch of members from Great River are all here watching because I was paired with Ben.
Yeah, it was just kind of cool to be part of that. I'm a new head pro there. I've been working there for like three months. So, yeah, was a little bit of pressure with all the members watching. You know, at least I did pretty well.
Q. How was that for an audition.
ANDREW SVOBODA: Right.
Q. How much time do you have to be club pro if you keep doing well at these tournaments?
ANDREW SVOBODA: Yeah, well, unless I get a Top 10 this week I'll be back being club pro next week.
Q. You get here and I'm sure there is a sense of I made the cut; now two more rounds to go. What do you have to do with some pretty big names above you and right with you?
ANDREW SVOBODA: Yeah, I mean, I'm thrilled just to have the opportunity to play in this position. Yeah, I think if I just go about my business, hit my driver well, and keep making birdies, I'll be okay.
