Q. +14 on the day. What did you like about your round?
DAVID LIPSKY: I played great on my front nine. I think I had 15 points or something, so it was really solid. Five birdies and an eagle is good anywhere on a nine.
And then ball hitting a sprinkler head wasn't ideal. Bounced way over the green on what was that, 2. Yeah, 2. And, it was tough to make even bogey from there.
So, yeah, a little unfortunate there, but overall a good day.
Q. Only blemish on the day on 2. From your tee shot do you now what had happened or where it was going?
DAVID LIPSKY: Well, it was on my second shot. I was in the rough but I had a -- lie was fine. It landed pin high right sort of where I was trying to hit it but just off the green by a foot and hit the sprinkler head and bounced over the camera guys in the trees.
It's one of those things. It happens. I can't dwell on that. Did a lot of good today.
Q. From the front nine, any shots stick out in particular?
DAVID LIPSKY: I think that putt on my first hole really gave me some momentum. Or actually -- my front nine, yeah, the first hole really gave me some momentum, and obviously the eagle putt on the 15th hole was really good.
So overall great day.
Q. Since John Deere had solid rounds, as well as last week. Where do you feel most comfortable with your game?
DAVID LIPSKY: I've been working pretty hard on my game, and sometimes it doesn't show up until it shows up. So I've stayed patient and the stuff I'm working on with my coach right now has really helped. My ball-striking and putting has gotten a lot better the last few weeks when I switched putters.
Q. What's it like to see what you're working in is transitioning into competition play?
DAVID LIPSKY: Oh, it's great. It gives me so much confidence going forward, especially going into the back end of the season. Hopefully few more solid rounds here, in the next couple weeks, and I can try and sneak in the Playoffs or something; at least give myself some breathing room going into the fall.
Q. Quick turnaround from Kentucky. Able to do anything fun or any lake in between?
DAVID LIPSKY: No, I went back home actually. Just did laundry, chilled. Kentucky was really hot. Drained me a little bit.
So rust relaxed and then came to this week feeling pretty refreshed.
