Quick Quotes

Q. Collin, congratulations. A match that you took over on the front nine. You got to 4 up. I'm not going to say you coasted home, but you kept the foot on the gas pedal and a nice win to close that out with the birdie putt.

COLLIN MORIKAWA: Oh, it was huge. I don't know if Xander closing it off kind of freed me up on the last hole for that putt. But all day, it felt good. Mito started off very, very strong and hit it to, you, tap-in range, to make a putt on top of that to just keep the match tied through 1. Kind of got the momentum going for the day.

Q. When you found out you were going to be the second to last pairing out, how did you approach today?

COLLIN MORIKAWA: That every point mattered. I mean, you really don't know. This international team, obviously, we've seen it, but these guys are great golfers. These are some of the best golfers in the world. You can't let up. I know we have a very strong team, but it's golf.

We all know anything can happen. So just wanted to keep my head down, get a point as soon as I can and hopefully, you know, celebrate with the guys.

Q. Where does this fit in? You won a major championship. This is a special event, and you're part of a winning team.

COLLIN MORIKAWA: Yeah, I've been out of -- I haven't won in a while. And just to kind of feel those nerves and kind of feel that energy, it was so exciting. Those are the things we live for. I think every single one of us here on both teams loves that position that you're in when you're coming down the stretch or you need to make a putt to win a hole.

It was so good to feel that. So, you know, I'm energized for this coming season and it was nice to get the win for the team.

Q. Congratulations.

COLLIN MORIKAWA: I appreciate it.
