Quick Quotes

Q. Sepp, seemed to catch fire on the back nine today. Did something change from the front nine to the back nine? Or just putts started to go in?

SEPP STRAKA: Yeah, a little bit. The driver definitely changed. I was hitting it right on the first seven or so holes and figured a little something out with the driver and started hitting it really good actually on the back nine. Was able to take advantage of it.

Q. Was it a simple little thing or something a little bit bigger?

SEPP STRAKA: Pretty simple, yeah, something that my coach JT and I were working on leading up to this tournament, just kind of turning behind the ball. But nothing too crazy. But yeah, just kind of was conscious of that and was able to take advantage of it.

Q. Obviously you played at Georgia, live in the south. Do you enjoy playing on the Bermudagrass?

SEPP STRAKA: I do, yeah, especially the greens. I love Bermuda greens. I've always read them pretty well, and I think they're -- especially now, these are such a good surface that they compete with just about any bent.

Q. You picked up your first win last season, made it to the TOUR championship. How much confidence have you built from the 2021-22 season? I know it wasn't a long off-season, but as we come into this new season?

SEPP STRAKA: Yeah, definitely some confidence there. I didn't really know what to expect this week. I took a couple weeks off after the TOUR Championship, and didn't really know where my game was, and just tried to kind of find it here this week, and thankfully after kind of a rough first nine yesterday, it's been pretty nice.

Q. Is that kind of how it is sometimes, you put the clubs down, come out a little rusty but then it comes back quickly?

SEPP STRAKA: Yeah, you just never know what to expect. You don't know if you've completely lost your game golf or if it's still there, so it's nice to see that it's still there.

Q. If you need to improve on one thing to stay in contention, what would it be?

SEPP STRAKA: I don't think anything really. I just need to stick with it, keep giving myself chances. You've got to put the ball in the fairway out here, and I did a good job of that on the back nine today and I think that will probably be the key on the weekend.
