Q. What was working so well for you today?
GARRICK HIGGO: Yeah, obviously I drove it good and then I just took advantage of that with my wedges and irons.
Q. What was the best shot you hit today?
GARRICK HIGGO: I liked the wedge shot in on 1 a lot. That's the range I've been working on. I haven't been taking advantage of that when I've had, like, a gap wedge or pitching wedge, and I hit that to six feet.
But there was a few more good shots. I just can't remember them right now.
Q. What in particular have you been working on with that kind of range of shots?
GARRICK HIGGO: Just distance control. Obviously you're not going to hit it that far left and right, so that's a big opportunity to hit it close. Just distance control. I haven't changed anything with my technique, just working on the same stuff.
Q. Have you felt more confidence in your game as the year has gone along?
GARRICK HIGGO: This year?
Q. This year, yeah.
GARRICK HIGGO: A little bit. I had a bit of a momentum break after I tore my labrum, so I'm pretty happy that I feel like I've got my momentum back. I had a lot of momentum, obviously, from Punta Cana.
Yeah, I feel pretty confident, but I'm trying to play the long game, as well, trying to get ready for next year and have a good next year and play some elevated stuff.
Q. How much confidence does it give you that now that labrum issue is taken care of?
GARRICK HIGGO: It feels good. I'm trying to stay injury-free. It seems like I get a few niggles -- I won't have to do surgery. I was scheduled to have surgery Wyndham week. I think I'll be fine. My wrist is good. I'm doing everything I can to be healthy.
Q. You're in the same group as Matt Kuchar today. He made an ace. Tell us a little bit about that.
GARRICK HIGGO: I always love playing with Kuch, just one of the all-time greats. It was fun. He hit it perfect. It pitched middle green to the right, and I thought it was in. It looked like it disappeared. It was perfect pace. I was happy for him.
