Quick Quotes

Q. Doc, back-to-back 65s after an opening 75. How were you able to bounce back like that so impressively?

DOC REDMAN: Yeah, I didn't feel too far off after the first round. I knew I was hitting it well and I think I had a good range session after the first round and wanted to kind of let go and played really aggressively and confidently yesterday and today, and that's what happens when I do that.

Q. Even to be here a bit of a blessing for you. Monday qualifier you got through in a playoff. Just talk about that a little bit.

DOC REDMAN: Yeah, I played really well in the Monday and I guess you never know where that's going to get you. To be in the playoff was cool, and I made a nice putt on the first playoff hole, which was I think a big confidence booster.

Just I felt -- I know this course well. I think I've played well in the past; I don't really even know. I like the setup, so I knew that I think if I play well I can compete with anyone.

Q. What's this year been like for you? You've been out on the Korn Ferry. What was that challenge like?

DOC REDMAN: Yeah, it's a much different challenge than here. You got to go really low over and over again. Although the courses are a little easier.

But, I mean, I didn't do that very well so I think it's really good for me to get out there and have to chip and putt well and just score the ball.

I didn't do my best this year, but I think I learned a lot.

Q. What's your mindset going into tomorrow? It's early now, but you've got a lot to play for tomorrow given the situation you're in.

DOC REDMAN: Yeah.

Q. What do you take into tomorrow?

DOC REDMAN: I think just how well I did the past two days with letting go of the result and being confident in my process and all the prep I've done over the year.

So I think if I can go in tomorrow not worried about what's going to happen at the end of the day and just play hard, it'll all work itself out.

Q. Do you try to not think about what a win or a top 10 would do to change your life or is it motivation and something you do try to think about?

DOC REDMAN: No, I guess I haven't thought about it too much. It would definitely be huge to top 10 and get into the next one or however well you can do.

There is a lot of factors out of my control for that to happen and that's so far away, you know, 18 holes. So I think if I can just play really hard and confidently, then I'll be happy with whatever happens.

Q. Like logistics-wise, did you bring enough clothes?

DOC REDMAN: Yeah, I did bring enough clothes luckily. Just the right amount. But a lot of hotels were sold out so I was just kind of finding that a little difficult, finding a good spot to stay and getting settled in like that was tough.

I was able to rest a bit, and since I knew the course I wasn't too concerned with like learning it or anything. I felt good coming in.

Q. This is a pretty tickle game, Doc. Couple years ago, fully exempt out here, and then you're not and struggle a little bit.

DOC REDMAN: Right.

Q. How do you have such a good attitude and continue to do this?

DOC REDMAN: Yeah, I think I was able to take a break this spring a little bit, hang with my family. I wasn't having a lot of fun on the road and competing because I was just worried about the result and what that said about me.

I've just been happy kind of competing, whether it's on Korn Ferry, which is very competitive now; everyone is really good. And then obviously you come out here and you're playing against the best. I think that's just a really cool opportunities.

So there is really no bad results unless I had a bad attitude or something like that. So you know, I think I'm good enough, so I just got to trust that.

Q. That's the key.

DOC REDMAN: Yeah.
