Quick Quotes

Q. How would you kind of assess the day today?

STEVEN FISK: It was good. Just really in control of the driver and hit a bunch of fairways and just tried to kind of pick my spots and where I can be aggressive and where I just kind of need to play for par with how firm everything is.

Q. Driving the golf ball seems -- it's a premium every week, but when you add the Bermuda rough, does that kind of accentuate having to put the ball in the fairway?

STEVEN FISK: I think so, especially with the wind picked up the last couple of days. I think, when you get in the rough out here, it just makes it -- it's just tricky enough that you can't really get the ball close and you're playing defense from there. So you're just trying to get it in as many fairways as possible so you can be aggressive.

Q. Putter heat up a little bit today?

STEVEN FISK: Yeah, it was better. I think it's been a bit of a long year on the greens specifically, but I'm starting to see a couple better things.

Q. In your rookie year this year, what has been maybe the most eye opening thing that you've learned out here on the PGA TOUR and maybe difficult things you've had to kind of deal with in learning a new tour?

STEVEN FISK: I think just learning a new golf course every week is the biggest challenge. I played one PGA TOUR event before this season, and I think it's a big challenge to come out here and play guys who you're essentially playing a bunch of veterans and guys that have been out here a long time. So I think that's the hardest thing.

I've been trying to kind of ease back on learning some of the courses and just -- it's just golf. The golf feels the same, to be honest with you.

Q. Do you feel like you're more comfortable now than you were, say, January, February, somewhere in there?

STEVEN FISK: I think you have weeks where you're comfortable and you have weeks where things feel kind of hard. I certainly think that, as time goes on, things get a little bit easier.

Q. What will you be able to look back on tomorrow in your past and try to win your first PGA TOUR event?

STEVEN FISK: I think with tomorrow I'm just trying to go out there and execute the shots I'm trying to hit. I don't think there's anything special going on for what I'm trying to do. I can only control what I'm doing, and if that's good enough, that's great. If not, we'll go to the next one.

Q. What sort of emotions did you have when you won on the Korn Ferry Tour? It was, I guess, close to home, probably a lot of family around?

STEVEN FISK: Yeah, that one was pretty special just because I'd been on Korn Ferry for -- I think that was my third year. I never really had a good opportunity to win. To get it done my first try actually having a chance on Sunday was really cool with everybody that was around and supporting me and kind of willing me on to win.

Q. You had a top five finish, I think was it Puerto Rico?

STEVEN FISK: Yes, sir.

Q. What sort of confidence did that give you at that point in the season?

STEVEN FISK: I think it was good. I didn't quite finish that one off the way I would have liked to. Maybe there's something I can build on learning from that.
