Quick Quotes

Q. Taylor, how would you characterize your round today?

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: I felt like I played pretty solid. I just messed up a few chip shots on the back nine, had a couple kind of tough lies and I didn't judge a couple of them correctly. Normally my chipping is pretty good. Just the Bermuda rough, it's tricky.

Q. Do you feel like you kind of kept your composure? You're obviously still right there heading into Sunday.

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: Yeah, it's kind of a strange course. You can hit a lot of shots and make pars, or you can start making some putts and just randomly roll off five or six birdies in a row.

Anybody within five shots, I think, can win on this course because it is -- it can play very tough. The rough is very penalizing. Obviously the greens are getting a little firmer, which is nice to see. So shots from the fairway are kind of a must going into tomorrow, I would think.

Q. What do you feel like is the main key for you, your thought process or what you feel like you need to do really well tomorrow to be standing with a trophy at the end of the day?

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: Yeah, it's going to be -- you're going to have to make a lot of birdies tomorrow, from the looks of the scoreboard. If I can just do what I did today, I felt like I did a really good job after the first couple holes, like with my driver and fairway woods off the tee, just kind of visualizing the shot and stepping up and hitting it.

I mean, it sounds so easy, but you get in a tournament and over a four-day stretch, you kind of lose your mind a little bit. If I can just kind of go through my routine and get up and hit the shot, I should have a good result.
