Q. So rolling here on the PGA TOUR in the mix. How does it feel? What was working well for you today, and how does it feel to get top of a good started here?

KEVIN ROY: It feels great. Only had one bogey, so kind of everything was working. Putter felt really good. Drove it pretty solid. Irons were right where they needed to be.

Yeah, just enjoyed the walk and had some fun out there and, yeah, hit it night.

Q. That's kind of the ethos you've had, having the fun out there. Going to the PGA TOUR, has that been easy to do, or have there been bumps in the road in the transition?

KEVIN ROY: Obviously, the first one up in Napa I was a bit nervous, but it was nice to get one under my belt and felt really good out there today. Felt comfortable.

We're just trying the same thing as the Korn Ferry. Just try to go out there and enjoy the walks and have fun.

Q. Does it feel any different than the Korn Ferry TOUR in any way, or does it feel the same?

KEVIN ROY: I'm trying to tell myself that it's still just golf. Obviously, more people, more grandstands. It's awesome. It's so fun being out there. This is the best tour in the world, so you've got to enjoy it.

Q. Do you feel as you kind of go week-to-week in the preparation, is there anything you've done differently, or have you tried your best to prepare the same as you do? Obviously, I guess the new course can make for a little bit of a difference.

KEVIN ROY: They're all new courses. I haven't seen any of them. Still the same. I don't really enjoy playing all 18 unless it's a pro-am. Monday pro-ams are really helpful up here because, like I said, I haven't seen the courses.

Same kind of prep. Nine holes on Tuesday. Just try to get the greens dialled in and where you can and cannot miss it. Yeah, pretty much the same.

Q. How did you spend last week?

KEVIN ROY: Last week I was just down home in Tampa. Just did some practicing, hung out with the wife. Yeah, just kind of took it easy.

Q. Have you been in touch with people about your house and what's going on? I know the hurricane was pretty --

KEVIN ROY: Yeah, I think we dodged a pretty good bullet there. I think we lost some power, lost some trees, but we didn't get any flooding, which was big.

I got some pictures this morning while I was warming up. There's a lot of downed power lines and everything. I know my family and our houses and everything, they're all okay.

Q. Does that make it harder at all to focus, or do you just kind of turn your phone off and just dial it in?

KEVIN ROY: I was glued into the news the last couple of days, but once I saw the new track of it going south, I knew we were going to be okay.

I tried to block it all out. But, yeah, once I saw it, I feel bad for Fort Myers. Fort Myers got smoked. Yeah, Tampa got lucky.

Q. Did you watch any of the Presidents Cup?

KEVIN ROY: Oh, yeah, I was tuned in, of course. It was great. It was great to see those boys get the W.

Q. Xander with the cigar kind of hamming it up. I know a lot of people think of him as super serious, but it seemed like he was showing some personality out there.

KEVIN ROY: Yeah, I think a cigar company should reach out to him and maybe get on his polo or something.

Q. The hat, same ethos, but you found a different style.

KEVIN ROY: We've been in talks with Mel and the company. We're trying to come up with some different colorways and everything. Showed up from Napa, got a black one, a red, white, and blue one, and still have the white and green one.

Q. Just being a PGA TOUR member, does it feel more like a long time coming or more like you're happy you made it? How does that kind of -- or a little bit of both?

KEVIN ROY: Both. Obviously, it's been dreams and goals for a long time, and it's been a bumpy road, but to get here finally is -- I mean, it's an unbelievable feeling, obviously. Like I said, it's the best tour in the world. I'm going to enjoy every bit of it, for sure.

Q. At KFT there's a long break before the next season. Is this one of those unique times in life where you are happy you're working?

KEVIN ROY: Yeah, we're still playing golf. It's a huge bonus for sure. I don't know if I'll get in the next couple, but a couple of weeks off might be good. Yeah, it's nice playing golf in the fall.

Q. And nice 'Cuse vibes too, football?

KEVIN ROY: 'Cuse vibes, baby. Keep going. It's great.
