Q. Always nice to be bogey-free. How would you characterize round 1?
DAVIS THOMPSON: Yeah, pretty stress-free, honestly. Hit every green. It felt like I hit the majority of the fairways. I was able to just kind of play from point A to point B and was able to put up a good score.
Q. You've already had a solid start with the first two events in the FedExCup Fall. Where are you seeing the strongest part of your game?
DAVIS THOMPSON: I think patience. I feel like a lot of the courses in the fall you've got to take it pretty low. But just trying to stay patient and give myself as many looks as possible and just really trying to mentally prepare myself for each round because you're not going to hit it perfect every round, but just trying to stay patient out there.
Q. With this second go-around in the fall, how nice is it during your rookie season that you've now seen some of these courses before?
DAVIS THOMPSON: Yeah, absolutely. It makes everything a little more familiar. Even just coming to the course and knowing where registration and the locker room is, all that simple stuff that doesn't really seem important, it helps to kind of have a year under your belt and make sure that you're more comfortable in your second year.
Q. FedExCup Fall a lot to play for, kind of more stress or motivation with these fall events?
DAVIS THOMPSON: I would say motivation. I feel like I'm in a good spot to not fall outside the 125, so I feel like I am kind of playing with house money right now, just kind of free-wheeling it and hoping to play my way into those elevated events starting in January.
