Q. You birdie the last four holes on one of the more difficult golf courses on the PGA TOUR. Tell me about it.
SEAMUS POWER: Yeah, it was a great finish because I was -- it's a funny old golf course -- I hit a horrible tee shot on the par-3 5th, had a very good up-and-down to kind of stay at 4 and then just kind of clicked coming in, really, made a couple of very nice putts and a couple of very nice shots.
Q. This has been kind of building in your game though, ever since the Barbasol win you've had a lot of confidence, haven't you?
SEAMUS POWER: Yeah, I really have. I really, this -- I know this place always plays the hardest, I've always really enjoyed playing Spyglass, it kind of suits my eye and game feels in good shape so I was like, why not.
Q. Tell me about the entire day, because you didn't have a single bogey.
SEAMUS POWER: Yeah, no bogey, which is always nice. I chipped and putted very well. I hit a couple of poor shots early and got away with them and it kind of set me up for a great round.
I stayed out of the water on 14 or 15 where some other days I might not have and I was able to get them up and in and it kind of got me going and kept me in it and set up the good finish.
Q. The thought process is that Spyglass, a little more protected from the wind, a little more trees out here. Did you find that? Were conditions calm for you all day?
SEAMUS POWER: Yeah, I mean, it was as nice as I've seen it. The temperature was fantastic. I'm playing in a T-shirt, normally I have a sweater and other stuff on. So it was nice, wind was minimal. Like even when you get out to 2, 3, 4, there was a little bit of breeze, but nothing major. So I mean it was a perfect day for scoring.
Q. Thought process going forward now?
SEAMUS POWER: Yeah, it's always funny with the three courses, obviously it's great to have a good start but you're on to a completely different challenge. Tomorrow I'm playing Pebble at 8:40 and it's going to be a completely different course to today. So kind of makes it easier to reset and so hopefully we can kind of keep doing the same thing tomorrow.
Q. The string of birdies at the end, any highlights in particular with the birdies today?
SEAMUS POWER: I mean 6 is obviously -- 6 was a steal. I hit it in the left bunker and hit a decent bunker shot on to about 25 feet and rolled that in. Kind of set me up for the last three.
Hit some good tee shots, hit the fairways on 8 and 9 which are huge and left myself good numbers. It was one of those days I kind of left myself like the right numbers into holes and just kind of made it easier to get it closer.
Q. With your foursome, some fellow Irish players, did that kind of help play into the atmosphere?
SEAMUS POWER: Absolutely. It was such an enjoyable round. Like John, it was very cool, John's very first PGA TOUR event, that was cool. And then our partners we had a great time. And then we had a bunch of Irish people following us, it really was fun. Just kind of talk about stories and stuff from back home also makes you just feel a little more at ease.
