Q. What was it like watching Louis' putt there at the end?
ALEX NOREN: I was like, if he makes that -- I like Louis and he's a good friend, so I'm like, I'm going to give him a good high five. At the end of the day it's golf, and coming down the stretch you may get quite serious, but yeah, I mean, just a good battle, and I was lucky to come out on top.
Q. You've had a lot of success in match play; what is it that you like so much about this format?
ALEX NOREN: I don't know. I played this course in college, stroke play, and I didn't like it because I didn't play so good here. But then in match play I think it's a great course. Just overall we played a lot of matches growing up as juniors on the national team. It's a nice change and you can hit a wide shot and it doesn't really matter as much. Yeah, it's fun.
Q. Holding your breath there on the 18th. Louis had a chance to get you there with that birdie putt.
ALEX NOREN: Yeah, I was 3-up quite early and I played good, and then kind of stressing out a bit over a few shots in the end. I had a good chance on 17 to get the match finished, probably like an eight-footer or something. It's a bit windy and then you start doubting the reads, and you've just got to go up and do it.
I'm just really happy to get a win out of it.
Q. You also had a chance at 14, as well, kind of that downhill putt from about 15 feet away. You would have been 3-up there at that point.
ALEX NOREN: Yeah, what was I, 3-up after nine, and then I had a four-footer on 10, which I missed for birdie, and then I made two good ones coming down 11 and 12. Yeah, it was a weird match. Like he was kind of always on the back foot but had a chance at the end.
It was really nice to get out of it with a win.
Q. Is this the kind of match that reaffirms this format where just when you think you've got it, you don't, but luckily you did today?
ALEX NOREN: I know, I know. I don't know what it is about match. Yeah, exactly. Sometimes when you're 3-up it goes really your way and you just win it 5 & 4 or it could easily go like this and the tournament feels tough. If I would have tied that one -- you think, oh, I should have just taken that one.
Yeah, it's a fun format, really fun.
