Quick Quotes

Q. Just talk about that finish, two chip-ins, and how much have you played this golf course here being a local guy?

PETER UIHLEIN: Chip-ins were nice. Yeah, kind of just good leaves, really kind of accidentally good leaves. But yeah, just really kind of came out nice, judged it well.

As far as playing here, I don't venture south of Indiantown. I'm north of Indiantown, which is a couple exits, PGA, Donald Ross, Indiantown, so I don't came down here unless I'm going to the airport or playing in this. I don't venture that far south.

But I like it every time I come here. I like it when it's windy, it's tricky, and it's a good test.

Q. Where do you play?

PETER UIHLEIN: I play at medalist up in Hobe Sound. Anything south of Indiantown, I'm not going there.

Q. How did you feel coming into this week, obviously getting back to the East Coast?

PETER UIHLEIN: Yeah, I prefer this coast. I prefer the East Coast. Anything east of Dallas I like really, anything east of Texas. I like it when it's windy, I like Bermudagrass even though it's kinda overseeded quite a bit here. It's just a style of golf I prefer a bit more.

Q. When you say style, what do you mean?

PETER UIHLEIN: Just a bit -- you don't feel like you're -- sometimes on the West Coast where there's no wind, it's a bit more like target practice, whereas out here with the wind and crosswinds and trouble, I don't know, it just makes you be a bit more creative. Just kind of the style I like. Obviously I grew up over in the northeast, but I went to high school in Florida, then to college in Oklahoma and played in Europe, so I like wind. I like when it gets windy and I like when it gets tricky. I'm just very comfortable on Bermuda and just this style of golf.

Q. Take us back to the early days; it's cool to see you and Brooks up there on the leaderboard, the early days when you guys were back here, you're dreaming, you're trying to get established. What were those days like?

PETER UIHLEIN: Yeah, I mean, we lived over at Evergreen together which is up Military and Donald Ross. Yeah, it's cool. It's fun. He's obviously a lot more local than I am, and he's got a lot of local ties to the area.

It's cool. When we were playing overseas and we would be in town for this Honda week, just based on the schedule, so we would be around and hang out with some guys, but it's cool. Obviously BK has had a tremendous career and it's still only going to get better. It's been awesome to see.

Q. Where did you guys kind of establish a friendship? How far back?

PETER UIHLEIN: Probably back in 2013 I think is when we lived together, kind of like after he left Florida State and then he came out on the Challenge Tour, I was out playing on the Challenge Tour, and then we were both conveniently looking for a place to live, so just kind of matched up really well that I was going to come down here, I was in Orlando, so I was going to come here, and then he was looking for a place here, and we had another friend of ours, as well, so it matched up perfect. We were renting a place over at Evergreen, and great setup. It was fun. We just played golf and hung out every day and had a good time.

Q. How long did you guys live together?

PETER UIHLEIN: We were probably at Evergreen a couple years, and then I bought a place, and then he moved in up in Jupiter together. We were probably, I want to say, four or five years maybe, four years or so.

Q. What was the rent in Evergreen?

PETER UIHLEIN: I don't remember. I know I paid more because I had the bigger room with the bathroom. He had to share a bathroom with our other buddy. I can't remember. But I can tell you it's probably a lot more now. Everything up here has bumped up in price.

Q. Who else did you guys have, too?

PETER UIHLEIN: We had Matt Broome. He works for 4Sports now. Now he's my agent.

Q. I know your results lately haven't been where you wanted them to be, but it didn't look very far off.

PETER UIHLEIN: Yeah, that was kind of the thing. It never feels as far off as it is. Last week I played a Korn Ferry event just to get some reps and played really well. I had a tough Sunday, but I felt like I played really well, and it was nice to get back into Florida golf playing. It was windy so I knew it was a good prep for this week and felt like I did some really good things last week and kind of carried it over to today, which was nice.
