Quick Quotes

Q. Can you speak to the quality of the ball striking in that round how good was it?

ADAM SVENSSON: Yeah, I hit the ball pretty good. Especially the driver. There's a lot of tight holes out there and I think I hit 17 -- well almost all the fairways besides 1. Yeah, I hit the irons great, made a couple nice putts.

Had a 3-putt on I think 7, but overall I played really well. I was really confident out there and I just had fun and enjoyed myself.

Q. They had a stat where Cody Gribble in 2017 as the only guy to hit all 18 greens. So that's pretty nice accomplishment at this track.

ADAM SVENSSON: Yeah, I didn't even know I hit all 18 greens until Tim, my caddie, told me and I was like, Wow, okay.

Q. How long you been working with Tim?

ADAM SVENSSON: He's done a couple events with me. We finished top-10 at Sony and then he had to take a couple weeks off and then we're starting back up now, so a lot of good vibes with him.

Q. Did you leave the range today feeling really good like things were there or you were playing well lately or how did everything jell into this?

ADAM SVENSSON: I've just been working really hard. In the two weeks off I practiced every single day, 8-10 hours a day, and just found something and sticking to it.

Q. You won the Q-School here, is that right?

ADAM SVENSSON: Yeah. I won --

Q. By a lot, right?

ADAM SVENSSON: Yeah, I think I won Q-School by 7 here and then I won a college event here as well. So there's a lot of good memories here.

Q. Even though it's a while ago is it something you feed off confidence wise when you're out here?

ADAM SVENSSON: Oh, yeah, for sure. I remember hole 3 today the par-5 I hit a 3-wood in there to 15 feet and I remember at Q-School I did the same thing and I was like, you know, just feeding off it.

Q. It's an intimidating golf course, I'm just, why do you have so much comfort on it?

ADAM SVENSSON: I just feel like I play good in the wind for some reason. I'm able to control the golf ball, I like to hit it against the wind, hit it low and kind of create shots where, if there's no wind, it's more of just hitting the shot. So, yeah, just love playing in the wind.

Q. What's it like just going into the weekend here right in the thick of contention?

ADAM SVENSSON: A couple years ago I was I think sixth after the first two days at the Honda and I've had it a couple times at Pebble a couple weeks ago and I've learned a lot from those experiences and hopefully I can do some good things this weekend.

Q. The Bear Trap holes 15, 16 and 17, could you give us a rundown of your performance on those three holes?

ADAM SVENSSON: Yeah, I was 3-over par yesterday on them. I had a nice round going and then I ended up going double bogey, bogey.

But today, no, actually, I was a little nervous yesterday and today I was like, let's just calm down and nice smooth swings and I just kind of, yeah, I mean I just hit some really good shots in there and just 2-putted for my par and ended up birdieing 18, but, yeah.

Q. So if you could give the next player some advice for tackling those three holes, what would you give them?

ADAM SVENSSON: I think the old saying swing smooth in the wind, just club up two clubs if you have to and just chip it, because if you're swinging smooth the ball goes straighter, so...
