Quick Quotes

Q. Mito, how would you characterize your opening round today?

MITO PEREIRA: Really solid. Really good golf, no bogeys. So really happy with the start.

I really didn't hit anything bad, so really happy. Look forward to tomorrow.

Q. What was working particularly so well for you?

MITO PEREIRA: So I think from the tee I was really good. On this course it's kind of tight so you can really have to be in position. Then putting was pretty solid too. I think I made what I needed to make. Those two get a really good combination.

Q. You mentioned over there that you feel like your course fits your game really well. Why would you say that?

MITO PEREIRA: I think you have to shape it both ways. Sometimes you're in the fair way and you have to hit draws or fades because you're in the trees. I think I like that. I try to move the ball both ways any time I play on any course, so this is better.

Q. You talked about also that you feel like your game is in good shape. As we're kind of getting here into the big part of the season, do you feel like you're moving in the right direction?

MITO PEREIRA: Yeah, I think I've played really solid throughout the season, but just every week I miss something, whether my irons or my driver or my putter. I feel like today was overall solid, and I've been doing some great work with my irons and on putting.

So I guess if all that works, it's going to be a great week.

Q. I just want to move on to a different tournament. I believe you're going to play with Joaco next week.

MITO PEREIRA: Yeah, we're going to play together.

Q. How much are you looking forward to that?

MITO PEREIRA: We were looking forward to that since I got my PGA TOUR card. So it's going to be fun. It's like a different week. I mean, it's important, but it's a little more relaxing playing with a partner. So it's going to be fun.

Q. Have you guys been having dinners together and working out strategy before the tournament?

MITO PEREIRA: No, I think we're just going to play and try to have fun.
